  2. Moviefone Interview With Casino Royale's Caterina Murino

    By Devin Zydel on 2006-10-26

Moviefone has scored an interview with Caterina Murino, who plays Solange in Casino Royale. Her appearance in the 21st official James Bond film is her first English-speaking movie role.

When asked if being a Bond girl has changed her life in any ways, Murino said: ‘Now wherever I go I have a red carpet for everything. It’s strange because I was very happy just as an actress to make the movie. And now just going around the world, making the press conference and everything is so strange. It changes your life. And I am very glad to be a Bond girl… for a little bit.’

‘Solange, she is not the typical Bond girl because she doesn’t try to kill James Bond. Also, I have only one stunt scene… I gallop with my horse on the beach with a green bikini. Typical Bond,’ she says.

When asked what was her favourite part about working on the film, Murino said: ‘Um, sharing the night with James Bond. And I loved also the morning when we shot the galloping scene on the beach. It was nice… everything you see on the screen, that’s me. I didn’t use a stunt double.’

The one question that seems to pop into every Casino Royale interview–what do you think of Daniel Craig as 007?–was also asked here. ‘[He’s] more realistic, more tough, more romantic. He looks like more of a human being… I love the idea that for the first time you understand that James Bond is not the good guy. It’s more in the human nature to have the good and the bad inside of us.

  3. Additional Casino Royale Soundtrack Cues Online

    By Devin Zydel on 2006-10-25

***Warning***: The official tracklist for the Casino Royale soundtrack contains a major plot spoiler for the film.

It was previously revealed on CBn that 30 second cues for all 25 tracks on the Casino Royale soundtrack had been released online at SonyMusicStore.

CBn forum member Rich Douglas points out that Soundtrack.net has obtained even more samples of all 25 cues on the soundtrack. Included with each track is an in-depth description and other related details. What is especially interesting to note about the Casino Royale soundtrack is its length of over 75 minutes (the run time for each track has been included in the article.) Bond fans have in the past complained about the lack of cues from the albums, Die Another Day being one particular example. It appears that this time they are giving the fans what they want.

The main title theme of the film, Chris Cornell’s ‘You Know My Name’–will not be included on the soundtrack. However, David Arnold has worked the theme into several cues in the film. Click here to listen to the Casino Royale soundtrack cues. What do you think of the latest Arnold Bond score? Share your thoughts here on the CBn Forums.

The Casino Royale soundtrack will be released on 13 November in the UK and on 14 November for US Bond fans. While Chris Cornell has already completed the music video for ‘You Know My Name,’ (which is set to be released on 30 October) details on the CD single are yet to be released.

Details have been released on the CBn forums about the upcoming release of the James Bond 007 ‘Ultimate Edition’ DVDs in the US.

The collectible booklets that accompany each film are included in the boxed set. Front and back cover artwork will be the same as the UK editions.

Are you satisfied or disappointed with the way these James Bond films are being released? Voice your opinion here on the CBn Forums.

  5. Casino Royale – Official Website Report #21

    By Devin Zydel on 2006-10-25

    Official ‘Casino Royale’ Teaser Poster

The official Casino Royale website blog has been updated by ‘Yarborough.’ Coverage this time centers on David Arnold’s music for Casino Royale.

Recorded at AIR studios, where former Beatles/Bond composer George Martin also worked, the score for the film attracted the interest of Daniel Craig, who was reportedly more hands on in this department compared to previous 007 actors.

‘Watching Daniel Craig in the role, the thing that struck me about it was this notion of masculinity in music,’ says Arnold.

The film also features the main title song ‘You Know My Name,’ performed by Chris Cornell. On the decision of Cornell for the part, Arnold said: ‘I was quite ashamed. Because I have been a fan of his for years. I just thought that’s the only idea that makes any sense to me because when I see Daniel Craig in that role, I am thinking what do I want to hear and when you hear Chris sing, especially on this song, you know there’s no mistaking what the whole thing is about.’

Cornell said of the process: ‘It’s a kind of disconcerting in a way [working with a large orchestra]. It’s actually fairly new for me and of course it really lends itself to the feel of the song and the fact that it’s a Bond theme song and so I am excited to see what it will sound like when it’s all finished.’

  8. Her Majesty The Queen To Attend Casino Royale's World Premiere

    By Devin Zydel on 2006-10-24

The CTBF, which originally announced details on the royal world premiere of Casino Royale in late July has updated their press release to include further information about ticket availability and the attendance of Her Majesty The Queen.

Bond World Premiere marks the 60th Anniversary of the CTBF’s Royal Film Performance

This year’s Royal Film Performance promises to be more spectacular than ever.

To celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the CTBF’s biggest fundraising event, the whole of Leicester Square will be taken over for the World Premiere of Casino Royale – this year’s chosen film. Read the original press release here.

HM The Queen, patron of the CTBF, will attend the star-studded event on Tuesday 14th November 2006.

Peter Hore, Chief Executive of the CTBF, said: “It is wonderful that such a highly anticipated film should mark our diamond jubilee year.

“We are turning Leicester Square into one vast multiplex cinema – taking over all three cinemas in the Square – The Odeon Leicester Square, The Odeon West End and the Empire. It is our biggest, most spectacular event so far.”

All three cinemas will be connected by red carpet and CCTV footage of the stars arriving will be shown in all the cinemas prior to the film. Around 4,500 people are due to sit down and watch the World Premiere of the latest Bond movie simultaneously.

The Royal Film Performance is one of the highlights of the film industry’s calendar, and in its sixty year history has attracted such titles as Chariots of Fire, Empire of The Sun, Titanic and Star Wars Episode I.

“Nearly half a million pounds was raised for the CTBF from Die Another Day in 2002 and again last year with The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” Peter said.

“The Royal film has got to be special – it has to be an international premiere and it’s got to be very exclusive and the latest Bond movie perfectly fits the bill,” he added.

Buckingham Palace will also be marking the Royal Film Performance’s 60th Anniversary with a special themed Changing of the Guards on Thursday 9th November. A selection of classic Bond tunes will be played by the Band of The Scots Guards.

All funds raised from the World Premiere of Casino Royale will go to the CTBF, the unique trade charity of the film and television industries.

Due to unprecedented demand there are no further tickets available for the Royal Premiere at the Odeon Leicester Square or the Simultaneous Screenings at the Odeon West End and Empire cinema. The pre-premiere Cocktail Reception at Penthouse, No.1 Leicester Square has also sold out.

Tickets are still available for the first public screening of Casino Royale at the Odeon Leicester Square. This late night screening takes place after the World Premiere on November 14th, 2006.

Further details relating to the Late Night Screening, timings, price of tickets etc. will be published in due course – please check the website for updates.
