  1. Official Site Interview With Lee Tamahori

    By daniel on 2002-02-08

The official James Bond website http://www.jamesbond.com has updated today with a look into the work that director Lee Tamahori is currently invovled with in Bond 20. But don't let that mislead you, the report contains no spoilers to the plot of Bond 20.

There are quite a few interesting highlights in the article. The first is of course a photo showing Pierce Brosnan and Lee Tamahori viewing a monitor. As to what the monitors showing, it's anyone's guess. Pierce of course looks great in the Brioni suit.

Fans are definetly going to be looking forward to Bond 20. It's not going to be wall to wall action as the press has reported. Pierce says of Lee in the article, "Lee's a good man for keeping this reality based, a character driven piece. He has an edge to him…".

Be sure to check out the official site to read more details from Yarborough. If you'd like to discuss any part of the report head over to this thread of the Bond 20 Forums. See you there!

  2. Madonna Reportedly In Negotiations For Bond 20

    By daniel on 2002-02-07

The February 18 edition of "US Weekly", which hits stands this Friday, has reported that actress-singer Madonna is in negotations to sing the title track of Bond 20. Furthermore, and more unlikely, US Weekly has said that a cameo in Bond 20 might even be instore for Madonna.

The rumour comes completely out of the blue for Bond 20. Undoubtedly by this stage composer David Arnold will have begun work on scoring Bond 20 and after his work on the title song of The World Is Not Enough it seems likely that he'll record a title track for Bond 20.

Strangely enough, Madonna has also been reported as being in negotiations to record the title track for Austin Powers 3. One can only wonder if the rumours are true, however, so soon after recording the title track for Austin Powers 2 it seems unlikely that Madonna would return so soon to Austin Powers 3.

Please visit this thread of the Bond 20 Forums if you'd like to discuss the news! Thanks to John007 for starting that thread!

  3. Rosamund Pike Speaks Bond 20 & Miranda Frost

    By daniel on 2002-02-06

English actress Rosamund Pike, who will star as Miranda Frost in Bond 20, has spoken with Empire Online about her role in the next Bond film. To begin with, Pike confirmed her characters name change from Gala Brand to Mirandra Frost saying "She's called Miranda Frost, which is a good name. It was going to be Gala Brand, and then we created this new one."

Pike has also described the role of her character. Spoiler warnings do apply with this information. Spoiler Warning (Highlight To Read) “She’s an MI6 agent, which is a cool thing to be, sent to work alongside Bond by M and not very happy about it. She would rather go it alone and doesn’t quite approve of Bond’s methods. He seems to be all fire where she’s all coolness and reserve. And then she keeps showing different sides all the way through. Personally, I’m not sure how to react to such a description. Does it seem that Eon are finally giving fans what they want in the form of a female 00 Agent? Thankfully that's a more exciting description, compared to past ones which have made similarities between Miranda Frost and Christmas Jones seem apparent.

In a further description about her character Frost has said, "It's a great way into a part because she's a top sportswoman, so I've got to turn myself into that. She's got one skill that I'm not allowed to tell you about – but it rivals Bond girls in the past – it's something new and exciting for Bond to have this particular sport in play." Spoiler Warning (Highlight To Read) A sport that Frost has a particular skill in? Undoubtedly that skill is fencing (sword fighting with foils) which Yarborough made a reference to on the official site when he announced the casting of Pike (back then we were excited at her name being Gala Brand). Rumours have also surfaced from Pinewood Studio’s about a set being built named “Blades Club”.

The article has also revealed that Pike currently has a three week break from filming. It also seems that Pike won't be leaving the UK for the filming of scenes. "The second unit are going everywhere, the first unit get a bit of a raw deal." evidently Pike will next get to travel with Bond when she attends the world press junkets.

Some great news there for Bond fans! If you'd like to discuss it (of course you would!) you can do so in the Bond 20 Forums, specifically in this thread which I just started. See you there!

  4. Spy Report: Choosing The Right Car

    By daniel on 2002-02-04

Luxurious cars and James Bond go hand in hand. So today we have a spy report about some luxurious cars that you’ll see in Bond 20. While this isn’t a major plot spoiler, some people may not want to know the information so you’ll have to highlight it to read it.

    Spoiler Warning (Highlight To Read)

By now you’ve no doubt heard that Colonel Moon’s men have an assortment of cars at their disposal (how they actually use these cars in the sandy demilitarised zone of Korea, heaven knows, but I’m sure we’ll find out come November). Today comes word from our source Mr Potato Head as to what cars we’ll actually see featured.

    In total it seems there will be eight sports cars used by the main henchmen. These cars include;

    • a Lambourghini Diablo
    • three different Ferrari’s
    • a Mercedes SLK
    • a Porshe 911 Carera
    • a Jaguar XKR

Also present was a racing car, the name of which we’re not sure of. But we’re looking into it.

Some good details there! Thanks again to Mr Potato Head for sending them into us!

  5. Spy Report: Open And Closed Case 007

    By daniel on 2002-02-03

Few briefcases will ever match with the briefcase that Q-Branch provides Agent 007 with in 'From Russia With Love'. However, CommanderBond.Net has details on a similair gadget; albeit not so complex.

    Spoiler Warnings (Highlight To Read)

When the pictures from the pre-title sequence leaked a few days ago I made a reference to this prop, “We’re not sure what it is, but Bond/Van Beere must pay Moon as substantial amount of money. However, the paymet is to be in diamonds. The diamonds are transported by Bond/Van Beere in a silver suitcase.”. It’s time to reveal some more details on this suitcase.

Like many others items that Bond collects from Q-Branch this suitcase has at least one gadget built into it, and like many other gadgets it saves Bond’s life.

When discovered as a British agent by Colonel Moon and his men the order is given for Bond’s execution. To cause a distraction Bond hits a small button and boom the suitcase explodes sending diamonds everywhere. The suitcase, it seems, was secretly rigged with C4 by Q-Branch.

The explosion gives Bond the right chance he needs to escape from the clutches of Colonel Moon to a nearby hovercraft (which he promptly steals). However, there’s one other side-effect. Zao, Colonel Moon’s main henchmen, was standing a tad to close to the exploding suitcase. As a result one side of his face is bloody mess, it also glitters a bit. That’s a result of the diamonds now embedded in his face.

Some great details on Bond 20 there! The more I hear about Bond 20, the more excited I get about the film! Roll on November 2002!

A big thanks to Brosnan's Hair and Indigo for making this report possible!

  6. New Picture Of Rosamund Pike

    By daniel on 2002-02-03

Finding pictures of Rosamund Pike, who will play Miranda Frost in Bond 20, has been quite a challenge. However 'Space Babe' sends us in this photo of Rosamund Pike at the United Kingdom premiere of Vanilla Sky.

  7. Bond Girl To Drive Ford Thunderbird

    By daniel on 2002-02-02

This news just in. I've just learnt that the Bond girl in Bond 20 will drive the Ford Thunderbird 2002 model. However, I can't say which Bond girl that is. If we're to look at the cast list it seems likely that we'll see Halle Berry's character 'Jinx' behind the wheel of the Ford Thunderbird.

    We'll have more details soon.

  8. JAMESBOND.COM UPDATE: Interview with Rick Yune

    By David Winter on 2002-01-31

JamesBond.com has been updated again today with a short interview clip with Rick Yune explaining his Bond childhood fascination.

The interview clip is in a much higer quality, presented in Apple Quicktime with great sound and image quality. You can download Quicktime if you don't already have, from this link.

  9. Looking At The Aston Martin With The Official Site

    By daniel on 2002-01-31

The official James Bond website has again updated with a new look at the Aston Martin and Jaguar cars being used in Bond 20.

The site has revealed that the cars need to be stripped back by the production team and have a four wheel drive transmission system installed. The reason is that both the cars will need to race on a frozen surface according to the site. The frozen surface is possibly an ice lake.

The report from Yarborough is worth a read, however, lacks the additional pieces of information that he's included in the past.

  10. Revealing Photo From Bond 20 Set

    By daniel on 2002-01-30

Another photo has managed to leak from the set of Bond 20 at Pinewood Studio. However, this one contains a major spoiler. As a result you won't see it displayed here. However, you can view the image by viewing this link. Again I must warn you that the image contains mass spoilers for Bond 20.

    Spoiler Warning (Highlight To Read)

The photo reveals Colonel Moon’s main henchman Zao (Played by Rick Yune) apprehending James Bond, who was previously under the guise of Mr Van Beere. Evident from the scene is the fact that a struggle is ensuing.

Further details about the photo have already been reported in past reports that I've made. But as a final confirmation, this photo has been taken at the same time of the other recently leaked photos.

A big thanks to Zencat and Tim for sending that photo in to us. If you'd like to discuss it, please do so in this thread of the Bond 20 Forums. See you there!
