  1. Odeon Theatres To Show Teaser Trailer

    By daniel on 2002-05-12

I've just had confirmation the Odeon Theatres across the United Kingdom will be showing the teaser trailer for Die Another Day when it premieres with Star Wars Episode II this Thursday. There are 107 Odeon cinemas throughout the United Kingdom, so hopefully there's one near you!

The Odeon have slated the trailer in the 'To Play' list of their trailers for Star Wars Episode II. We're told that the trailer won't be attached to the actual print of Episode II so other cinema chains may choose not to show it.

If you work for a cinema chain in any country and plan to play the trailer please e-mail through [email protected] and I'll make a mention in the news so that Bond fans can see the trailer on a big screen near them.

If you'd like to discuss the teaser trailer please do so in this thread of the Die Another Day Forums.

  3. Spy Report: Two New Bond Girls To The Cast List

    By daniel on 2002-05-11

Two new actresses can now be added to the cast list for Die Another Day. Both actresses hold more minor roles.

Twenty-nine year old actress Helena Tepper is currently filming scenes for Die Another Day. However, we're told that the former model has remained "under-whelmed" by the experience. We're not sure as to which character that Tepper is playing, however, we are told that she is filming mostly night scenes.

In it's Friday update cinema news source Dark Horizons reported that actress Rachel Grant would also have a role in Die Another Day. With their news they reported that Grant's work had already been trimmed down to two scenes, leaving her approximately six minutes of screen time. It has been greatly speculated as to who Grant will play, however, 'sainttemplar' has confirmed that Grant is not playing the character of the Scorpion Girl, a character first revealed by CommanderBond.Net.

If you'd like to discuss the news on either actress please visit this thread of the Die Another Day Forums. Thanks to everyone involved in this report, you know who you are!

  4. Footage From Pinewood Online

    By daniel on 2002-05-09

Australia's Today Show has scored more footage from the sets of Die Another Day. Comprising of mostly hovercraft footage, with great interviews with Vic Armstrong and other crew members, and also a look inside the car workshop.

The footage won't be online for much longer than 24 hours so check it out at http://ninemsn.com.au/windowsmedia/ From there you'll need to click on a connection speed associated with "'Richard Wilkins' showbiz news".

Thanks to 'Willard White' for letting us know about the footage!

  5. Exclusive: Teaser Trailer Not Yet Classified In The UK

    By daniel on 2002-05-09

Having spoken with the BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) earlier today I can exclusively reveal that the teaser trailer for Die Another Day has not yet been given a classification by the BBFC.

Despite this, it was confirmed that the BBFC have received a copy of the trailer and have also viewed it. They are expected to decide on a rating over the next few days.

Recently the BBFC gave Star Wars Episode II a PG rating, It is likely that the Die Another Day teaser trailer will receive the same rating as it will be showing before Episode II.

If you'd like to discuss the trailer you can do so in this thread of the Die Another Day Forums. See you there!

  6. Teaser Trailer To Show In Germany

    By daniel on 2002-05-08

When CommanderBond.Net was the first to publish news of the Die Another Day teaser trailer showing before Star Wars Episode II, we didn't realise what interest we'd spur.

Our German friends at the German James Bond Fan Club (BKD) have just confirmed for us that the Die Another Day teaser trailer will be shipped with copies of Star Wars Episode II.

However, it's not all good news. The situation in Germany is such that, while Fox will distribute the trailer, it's up to the individual cinema to show the trailer. I believe it's the same situation throughout Europe and in Australia.

So my advice to anyone in such a position? Ring your cinema in advance and ask them if they'll be showing the trailer for Die Another Day.

If you'd like to discuss this news please do so in this thread of the Die Another Day Forums, see you there!

  7. Connery Vows Never To Play Bond Villain…

    By David Winter on 2002-05-08

Former-007; Sir Sean Connery has vowed never to play a "Bond Baddie". An unknown producer (it is not yet clear if this was Eon or someone else), has approached the Scottish Born actor, about the possibility of appearing in a Bond remake. However, this time the part was to be a villain, instead or returning to the role of superspy – James Bond.

If the remake news is correct, then it would seem most likely that Kevin McClory (who owns some of the rights to "Thunderball"), is trying yet again at another remake. The unofficial Bond movie "Never Say Never Again", was a "Thunderball" remake.

Current James Bond; Pierce Brosnan was offered the part of 007, before being cast in "GoldenEye", McClory wanted him to star in a Thunderball remake. Connery, also added to his statement that he thinks that Pierce Brosnan is doing the best job portraying 007, since he left the role.

Whether or not this project is still going ahead seems uncertain, however you can be sure to check it out here first at CommanderBond.net.

  8. Beretta Mystery solved!

    By David Winter on 2002-05-08

The German James Bond Club, Bondklub Deutschland, has just published an article about the Beretta on the Teaser Poster of Die Another Day.

As you remember, there was speculation about why filmmakers choose a Beretta, neither a Walther. Well, the BKD has solved this mystery – and it has nothing to do with the plot directly.

Insider at Walther said that the use of a Baretta is just a simple mistake, and Walther confirms that Bond will use a Walther P99 in Die Another Day. So why can we see a Beretta on that poster? The BKD insiders could not confirm neither deny that Spoiler Warning (Highlight To Read) the villains are going to use a Beretta, but as said above, on the Teaser Poster, it's just a mistake.

Possibly, the photographer who made the taking, used a Beretta, because he didn't have a Walther to mug.

The only curiosity: nobody at MGM noticed the mistake.

In the same note the BKD confirms that also in Germany the Teaser Trailer for Die Another Day will air together with "Star Wars: Episode II".

Feel free to discuss the news in this thread of the Die Another Day Forums!

  9. Exclusive: Photos From Filming At Manston Airport

    By daniel on 2002-05-08

In a recent 'spy report' CommanderBond.Net exclusively revealed details on filming for Die Another Day that took place in Manston, Kent in the United Kingdom. And thanks to James Prince, Chris Russell and Mark Trinder from Wormfood Studios, Kent we're back today with exclusive images from the Manston set!

Some of the pictures come with a commentry, which does contain some exclusive spoilers, so you'll have to highlight those to read them.

This first image shows three North Korean officers heading in a jeep to the waiting Antonov plane.

This first image shows three North Korean officers heading in a jeep to the waiting Antonov plane. Note that the officer in the back right of the jeep is turning to another person. This person is a member of the crew wearing a 'safety vest' labelled Eon. The vest was necssary for the crew as they were actually in airspace as they had passed through customs onto the runway.

This second image shows a North Korean jeep at some distance.

An actor in North Korean fatigues waits inbetween shots for other actors to join him. Also note the large light used for filming the sequences.

Sadly this image turned out a tad blurry, however, it does show a concentration of vehicles around the Antonov.

A better shot of the Antonov at some distance. This shot, less blurry then the first, shows several crates and a refueling tanker around the Antonov.

This image takes some conentration. Eon Productions crew are visible in the image, however, pay particular attention to the main North Korean truck in the centre of the image. Spoiler Warning (Highlight To Read) Notice the yellow Lambourgini Diablo in the image, and if you look carefully under the tyres of the North Korean truck you’ll note a very minor hint of the colour red. That’s the red Diablo that CommanderBond.Net has previously scored exclusive pictures of. Well our source ‘Little Dog’ tells us that both cars were driven into the back of the Antonov during the filming. Seems Bond won’t have the pleasure of destroying them during the pre-title seqeunce.

While a similair image has already been featured, this image does show another vehicle with North Korean officers aboard.

Also 'munjie' has provided us with this image in the Die Another Day forums of the Antanov from a distance.

'munjie' took that picture on Thursday night, the final night of filming in Manston.

'Plan Omega' also tells me that while at the airport during the day he noted that the Antonov was not only immaculately clean but its registration number also ended with 007 (something to look out for in the film!).

If you'd like to discuss the filming in Manston please visit this thread in the Die Another Day Forums, the Internet's best place to discuss all things James Bond from the Internet's best James Bond site!

Finally thanks to James Prince, Chris Russell, Mark Trinder, 'Plan Omega', 'munjie' and 'Little Dog' who have all made this report possible!

  10. Spy Report: Teaser Trailer Was Almost Complete Fortnight Ago

    By daniel on 2002-05-08

Looking into news about the possibility of the teaser trailer for Die Another Day being shown before Star Wars Attack of the Clones I contact our source Mr Potato Head, who returned some great details!

Roughly a fortnight ago Mr Potato Head he spoke to someone within Fox International. He was told that the editing of the teaser trailer for Die Another Day was almost completed.

Fast forward two weeks and we have the news the teaser may be seen in theatres from May 16 onwards.

From this we can presume that the major cinema I referred to in the UK may not be the only theatre set to receive the trailer for Die Another Day.

If you'd like to discuss the teaser trailer please do so in this thread of the Die Another Day Forums.
