  1. Switzerland Still On The Cards For 'Bond 22'

    By Matt Weston on 2007-08-24

Tages-Anzeiger Online today reports that the “chances are good” we will see Switzerland as a location in Bond 22.

André Brice of Film Location Switzerland (the Swiss Film Commission), said, “As soon as we found out that Marc Forster grew up in Switzerland and would direct the next James Bond, we had to offer our services.”

“Nothing’s definite yet, but the chances are good.”

The Swiss Alps were first mentioned as a possible location for the next 007 outing as early as June by Forster himself. Forster said at the time, “There can’t be any better place than the alps. No matter if you plan to do romantic scenes or hard action, the alps will be the perfect background for a Bond movie.”

Further fueling rumours was the snippet from this year’s BondStars events that Bond 22 would see Daniel Craig hitting the slopes.

Austria has also been mentioned as a potential location, while 007 fans know filming (article contains SPOILERS) has already taken place in Italy.

James Bond previously visited Switzerland in Goldfinger and On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. Forster, while born in Germany, grew up in Bündnerland in southeastern Switzerland.

  2. 'Daniel Craig: The Biography' Now Shipping From Amazon UK

    By Devin Zydel on 2007-08-24

As previously announced by CBn back in May of this year, two new Daniel Craig biographies were on the way. One of those two books, Daniel Craig: The Biography by Sarah Marshall, is now shipping from amazon.co.uk.

Daniel Craig: The Biography is published by John Blake Publishing Ltd. The hardback, which runs at 288 pages, retails for £17.99. The full blurb:

He’s gorgeous, tremendously talented, charming and sexy. His breathtaking performance as the new James Bond in Casino Royale won him legions of fans and proved that, as well as being an outstanding actor; he could cut it as an action hero and could re-define a cinematic icon to huge critical acclaim. Daniel Craig, arguably the most inspiring 007, has truly made it as an A-list film star. This fascinating and affectionate book reveals everything about Britain’s favourite leading man: how he endured poverty-stricken years when he was first struggling to make it as an actor in London; how he rejected the ‘trivial’ publicity that came when he started to make a name for himself; his relationships, including his marriage to a British actress with whom he has a daughter; plus his encounters with Sienna Miller and Kate Moss and how he has handled the adulation that has come from his new role as 007. This is the intriguing story of a supremely talented actor who has established his reputation, then defied expectations and silenced those who doubted his Bond would live up to its predecessors. It is essential reading for any Daniel Craig admirer and for the masses of film fans for whom his performance as Bond was an unforgettable cinematic experience.

Additionally, a 2008 Daniel Craig calendar is also available to order from amazon. Order online: Amazon.co.uk | Amazon.com

  3. SPOILERS: Video Of Daniel Craig Attending 'Bond 22' Filming

    By Matt Weston on 2007-08-23

Not only did the world’s media snap photos of current James Bond, Daniel Craig attending filming of Bond 22 in Siena last week, but now, courtesy of YouTube, a video showing the actor has also emerged.

While it doesn’t offer any new insight into what the scenes will involve, fans will no doubt relish the opportunity to see Craig taking in the spectacle of the Palio di Siena – and footage of the Bond 22 cameras in action.

Television coverage of the brutal horse race itself can also be viewed on YouTube.

The James Bond crew were ordered to shoot the race in strict documentary-style, with no manipulation or ridiculing of the event, and no shots of violence involving horses or people to be included.

The sequence is said to see 007 pursuing the film’s villain down narrow cobbled streets, then across the town’s rooftops and through its medievil bottini – a tangled network of underground tunnels – all as the horses charge around the Piazza del Campo.

  7. Activision Announces 007 Game Developers

    By Matt Weston on 2007-08-22

K1Bond007 tips us off that Activision announced a couple of extra details regarding their upcoming debut James Bond video game at the 2007 German Games Convention.

It’s been rather quiet since Activision was granted the 007 rights in May 2006; the only real piece of news to have emerged is that the game is expected to be based on Bond 22.

Now, it has been revealed that studios Treyarch, Beenox and Vicarious Visions are developing the game, which will appear on next-generation consoles, Windows PC and hand-held platforms.

The news that the game will appear on PC should be particularly welcomed by 007 gamers; the most recent game to appear on PC was 2003’s Nightfire.

K1Bond007 speculates that each developer will handle a different platform, offering the “likely scenario” that Treyarch will develop the game for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Beenox will handle the PC version and Vicarious Visions will develop the Wii, DS and/or PSP port.

Electronic Arts passed the James Bond rights to Activision following the release of 2005’s From Russia With Love.
