  1. Peter Lamont talks "Die Another Day"

    By David Winter on 2002-07-04

Peter Lamont, Production Designer of "Die Another Day" attented at a School for Film and TV in Munich, Germany, yesterday. German 007-Website all time high had an insider in Munich, who passed on information that Peter Lamont revealed…

Unfortunately most students asked for "Titanic", at the end some other wanted to know about the new James Bond film. The most surprising information – the 1st unit is still shooting and has not ended filming, as formerly reported. In the next days there will be filming somewhere in England, and according to Peter Lamont scenes will be shot where Spoiler Warning (Highlight To Read) Pierce Brosnan will fall into an ice lake.

Lamont also talked about a scene where they filmed the Green Jaguar. First it should be shot with Blue Screens, but they decided to take a 360° panorama shot on location in Iceland. They used this shot as backdrop, and it looked great, according to the Production Designer. So it was decided to do the scene without Blue Screen.

Finally he revealed that there is a big time pressure. So they had to shoot scenes with the model of an Spoiler Warning (Highlight To Read) Antanov, but it didn't look well, so they had to edit the model, which meant more loss of time. Post production will last until mid-October.

  2. Aston Martin Upside Down

    By daniel on 2002-07-04

It seems a strange title for an article, but you better believe it.

The Sun have published a great photo from Blue Egg Studios in Gloucestershire were scenes for the Iceland car chase are currently being filmed.

The Aston Gives Bond A Different Perspective Of Iceland

So what's going on? Well Spoiler Warning (Highlight To Read) as CommanderBond.Net revealed earlier this year, a part of the ice ballet will see Bond’s Aston Martin flipped onto it’s roof. So how does it right itself again? Bond hits a button and the ejector passenger seat engages throwing the car the right way up again.

Just in case the stunt went wrong, three other Vanquish's were on hand.

  3. Official Site Takes A Look At Hovercrafts

    By daniel on 2002-07-04

The official James Bond site has had another major update today, this time taking a look at the Hovercraft sequence that was filmed in Aldershot.

Specifically, the filming took place in Long Valley which hosts a military base. That alone created problems for the crew as Chris Corbould reveals, “This area is the army test ground and it’s very abrasive on vehicles. They say if a tank can last two weeks here you can take it to any terrain in the world and it’ll keep going which is why they come here. The sand is all spikes when you look at it under the microscope so we had a lot of trouble with bearings and all sorts of things in the early days. However, we’ve ironed out the problems and they are working really well now”.

The article is worth a read if only for the two pictures of the hovercraft sequence being filmed.

If you'd like to discuss the article please do so in this thread of the Die Another Day Forums.

Finally, a big thanks to 'M_Balje' for letting us know about the update!

  5. Will Yun Lee Gives Cryptic Description Of Colonel Moon

    By daniel on 2002-07-03

Will Yun Lee hasn't exactly been forthcoming with details on his character Colonel Moon. As John007 points out, in a recent interview Will has had little to say about Moon bar a small, intriguing comment.

When asked about his role Will responded, "Basically he's one of the villains in the Bond movie. And he, I would say in the Bond franchise history he's definitly an interesting twist on the villain himself. That's pretty much all i can say".

It's anyones guess as to what that means thought. If you'd like to comment on it, please visit this thread of the Die Another Day Forums. Thanks to John007 for the tipoff!

  6. 'Casino Royale' To Be Released On DVD In US

    By daniel on 2002-07-03

Bond-spoof Casino Royale is to be released in the United States on October 10 this year. To date it appears that no version of the film has been released on DVD inside the United States, though it is readily available internationally.

DVD File have reported that the movie will be presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen with a new 5.1 Dolby Digital remix.

Furthermore, and great news for Bond fans, the DVD will include the original 1954 telemovie movie of Casino Royale as an extra. The telemovie starred Barry Nelson as 'Jimmy Bond'

A great DVD for Bond fans and one I'm sure that many fans will want internationally.

  7. Pierce Brosnan Reveals New Plot Detail

    By daniel on 2002-07-03

In an interview with IGN that took place at the Omega Press Conference. Understandably the conversation moved away from the Omega to Die Another Day and Pierce revealed a few interesting details.

Pierce gave a few brief comments about the film, it involves Koreans for instance, however, there was one that caught my eye. Spoiler Warning (Highlight To Read) Pierce mentioned that the film involved James Bond having his identity taken from him, with the rest of the filming involving him trying to get it back from those who originally gave it to him!.

Well what does that mean? There are numerous possibilities. However, the main one that springs to mind is the persistent rumour that after becoming Missing In Action Bond’s official number, 007, is assigned to another agent; none other than Miranda Frost. That would certainly be a loss of identity for Bond and would of course continue on the friction that exists between Bond and M.

  10. Theme Song Rumoured To Premiere At MTV Video Music Awards

    By daniel on 2002-07-02

File this one under rumour and speculation but it's the latest news in the world of Madonna.

It seems that Madonna may be performing at this years MTV Video Music Awards. This years awards will be held on August 28. If you take the rumour that Madonna will perform to be true, then you may find that she'll be performing the title track for Die Another Day.

Why? Well in recent times Bond films have received heavy promotion from MTV. Furthermore, Madonna would only perform a new track to the world-wide audience. And what better promotion than to perform the title track for Die Another Day, which will be released on her forthcoming album.

If correct, it could mean that we'll see the videoclip for Die Another Day's title track in late August, with the single on shelves sometime in early October.

We'll wait, see and hope! Until then you can discuss this news in this thread of the Die Another Day Forums!
