  2. Wal-Mart Give Away Bond Cars

    By daniel on 2003-05-23

To promote the forthcoming release of Die Another Day on DVD the Radio Grille snack bars at Wal-Mart stores are giving away seven James Bond Johnny Lightning cars.

To get a complimentry Johnny Lightning car you need by buy a ‘pretzel and icee’ for $2.00 at one of the Radio Grille snack bars. The cars are, however, all in the same package so it may require more than seven visits to complete the set.

The set includes the Dr No Sunbeam, the Toyota from You Only Live Twice, the Hornet from The Man With The Golden Gun, the Lotus Esprit from For Your Eyes Only, the Hispano-Suiza from Moonraker, Die Another Days Vanquish and the Lotus Esprit from The Spy Who Loved Me; the latter is said to be the hardest to find in the collection.

  3. Everything or Nothing: Is It Coming To The PC?

    By David Winter on 2003-05-17

No official word on this – but IGN are now listing Everything or Nothing for the PC! I had to look twice when I saw the listing.

    Follow this link!

In the PC section for Everything or Nothing, there’s a preview, with the following:

This year, EA’s making a huge change with James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing for all consoles and the PC.

Like I said, no official word – and IGN is the only site listing EoN as a PC game as well.

We’ll have to wait until the end of E3 to find out!

  4. Hands On: Everything or Nothing

    By David Winter on 2003-05-16

The guys over at Gaming Horizon managed to get some time alone with Everything or Nothing at the E3 conference in LA.

Earlier today, we had a chance to grab some playtime with the new 007 title from Electronic Arts for the Playstation 2, Xbox, and GameCube. We were able to play the Playstation 2 and Xbox versions, but to tell you the truth the PS2 version was the best.

Pierce Brosnan will once again be lending his voice for the character in the game. By listening to some of the voices, it seemed pretty well-done. Although, it was very faint trying to listen to him. The graphics on the other hand were very impressive. Unlike, previous Bond titles, EA has totally revamped the 007 franchise and it seems as if they are spending more time with it rather then pushing out title after title.

We didn’t have enough time to play with all the weapons, but the game contains over 20 weapons and gadgets including the ability to rappel up or down any wall. When starting out in this demo, you fight some enemies then you rappel down the side of the building. I thought it was very interesting to actually let the “player” go down the wall, rather then watching a cut scene do it for you.

  7. Official Everything or Nothing EA Site

    By David Winter on 2003-05-15

The official Everything or Nothing web site has been launched.

    007.ea.com

The web site offers a features list, screenshots and 007 Insider which will have the latest news on the games development.

The site’s quite empty at the moment, but the screenshots are of far better quality than the ones we’ve already seen.

Thanks to Jim for the tip-off!

  8. Moore Wants To Save Black Bears From Crown Cullings

    By daniel on 2003-05-15

London – Having been taken ill hasn’t stopped actor Roger Moore, star of dozens of films but best known for his role as British super-spy 007 in the James Bond movie series, from being active as an advocate for animals: Moore has signed a petition from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) calling on Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and the Ministry of Defence to adopt a fur-free policy and switch to faux fur for the Household Guards’ bearskin hats.

It takes the entire hide of one to two bears to make just one Guard’s headpiece. The skins come from bears shot in Canada—many are shot several times before they die, while some escape the hunters only to bleed to death. When mother bears are killed, orphaned cubs who cannot survive on their own are left behind.

‘Ordering the killing of hundreds of magnificent black bears—whose only desire is to remain free and with their families—sounds like a dastardly plot that the British government would immediately send James Bond to foil,’ says PETA UK’s Dawn Carr. ‘With faux-fur substitutes available, the Ministry of Defence has no excuse for continuing in the role of villain.’

Mr. Moore joins Morrissey, Julian Clary, the Dowager Duchess of Bedford, Twiggy, Jilly Cooper, Amanda Holden, Brian Sewell, Haley Mills, Ian Cawsey MP, Jerome Flynn and others in calling for a ban on bear fur in Guards’ headwear.

  10. Brosnan Signs Bond 21 Contract

    By Tim Roth on 2003-05-13

Yahoo! Germany reports that Pierce Brosnan has just signed the contract for Bond 21, with an option for Bond 22. Pierce is quoted as having said "I think playing James Bond six times and turn down the role then, this would be pretty cool".

In another sentence it is mentioned that the next James Bond is currently being worked on. This would be contrary to Michael G. Wilson’s statement about Bond 21 in the recent edition of British magazine "Film Review", where he is quoted to have said "As for Bond 21, it’s not even a glimmer in it’s mother’s eye. It’s a matter of logistics, it takes time to make these films and they get bigger and bigger, and they take more and more planning… I reckon it would be at least three years from the last film".

Anyway, be sure to discuss the topic in this thread of CBn’s Bond 21 forums!
