King Philip, Heathcliff, James Bond, and now… Mr. Pricklepants.

Former 007 star Timothy Dalton has just added a decidedly different role to his filmography listing with the news that he’ll be voicing a character in next summer’s Toy Story 3.

According to the BBC News, Dalton’s character in the highly anticipated Pixar film will be a hedgehog toy named Mr. Pricklepants. He’ll be joined with fellow newcomer to the series Michael Keaton, who’ll be voicing Ken, a male Barbie doll.

Clips from the upcoming film were previewed at a central London presentation earlier today by Disney/Pixar chief creative officer John Lasseter.

  2. Michael Sheen shuts down Bond 23 villain rumours

    By Devin Zydel on 2009-09-10

Welsh actor Michael Sheen has publicly shut down the rumours that he’s lined up as a villain in what will be the 23rd James Bond film.

In the following news release, Sheen states there is no truth to the tabloid rumours started earlier this year that he would star as supervillain Ernst Stavro Blofeld opposite Daniel Craig’s 007…

Michael Sheen has denied he will be in the next James Bond film.

The Frost/Nixon star was rumoured to be playing villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld in the 23rd outing of the famous spy movies, with Daniel Craig as 007, but said the stories are untrue.

“The rumours are I might be playing Blofeld, the Bond villain, because Peter Morgan, who I’ve done Frost/Nixon, The Queen and The Damned United with, is writing it – there is no truth to those rumours,” he insisted at GQ’s Men Of The Year awards, where he won Actor Of The Year.

The Welsh actor added, with a smile: “I wish I could tell you different, but no.”

Bond or not, Michael knows how to keep himself busy. The 40-year-old has recently finished filming Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland alongside Johnny Depp and Anne Hathaway, Unthinkable with Samuel L Jackson, and the part of vampire Aro in the upcoming Twilight sequel, New Moon.

  4. No bonding for Gerard Butler

    By Devin Zydel on 2009-09-03

His name has come up more than once as a possible future James Bond, but according to a new interview, Scottish actor Gerard Butler isn’t quite sure he’d want to be known as the latest 007.

Digital Spy reports that Butler told ShortList that actors risk being typecast if they take on such an iconic role.

‘I enjoy doing an array of films,’ he said. ‘If I was to play Bond, that would quickly stop. How likely would I be accepted doing those roles after having played Bond?’

‘You do a lot of movies as Bond and you’d become even more synonymous with the role. I think Daniel Craig is a great Bond and good for him, but I would much rather create a role from nothing.’

He further added: ‘I feel blessed to have done 300 because I think it will go down as a seminal movie and a classic. And it came out of nowhere.’

As many Bond fans are aware, Butler made a tiny appearance in the opening sequence of 1997’s Tomorrow Never Dies. When asked about the small role, he revealed that director Roger Spottiswoode took away his only line because he could not understand his accent.

‘They gave it to a really effeminate chap,’ he said. ‘He was a good bloke, but he delivered the line like it was a piece of gossip. I was gutted.’

    By Devin Zydel on 2009-08-27

Daniel Craig has signed up to star in Morgan Creek’s A Dream House.

Today’s report in Variety comes after it was announced two months ago that the James Bond star was in talks to get involved with the project.

In the script penned by David Loucka, Craig plays a New York publishing executive who moves his family to an idyllic small New England town, only to find his house haunted by its former inhabitants, who were murdered there.

The six-time Academy Award nominated Jim Sheridan is signed on to direct the film, which begins shooting on 25 January 2010. James G. Robinson, David Robinson, Daniel Bobker and Ehren Krueger will produce.

Bond 23 news still remains relatively quiet, so it remains to be seen if and how this new project for Craig will affect his third 007 entry.

  9. Bond girl Ursula Andress voted ultimate bikini goddess

    By Devin Zydel on 2009-08-20

Bond girl Ursula Andress has been crowned the ultimate bikini goddess in a new survey of more than 1,000 women.

    'Dr. No'

    Dr. No

The Telegraph reports that the survey took place to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the bikini, since its entrance onto the fashion scene in the US.

To be expected, it was the memorable entrance of Andress as Honey Ryder opposite Sean Connery’s 007 in Dr. No that catapulted her into first place. Following in second and third were Kelly Brook and Brigitte ‘The Bikini Girl’ Bardot, respectively.

Also on the list was Halle Berry for her role as Jinx in Die Another Day. Ironically, her character’s beach introduction imitated the famous Dr. No scene from 40 years earlier.

Furthermore, women voted that Andress’s famous two-piece as the most iconic bikini ever, while Jessica Alba’s washboard stomach and Elle Macpherson’s legs were named the best of their kind.

The poll showed that despite its popularity, the bikini is the one piece of clothing guaranteed to make women self conscious about their own body image: 97% of women dread the thought of revealing themselves in a bikini with 27% cited cellulite as the reason and 22% simply not being toned.

Holly Chaves, stylist for Gillette Venus Embrace said: ‘The findings show that the number one factor enabling women to feel like a goddess in their bikini is inner confidence.’

She added: ‘However there are some other key tips to remember—women should not buy a bikini just because it is trendy but choose one that has a cut and style to suit their particular body shape—choosing the right one can take pounds off you. The perfect bikini look is certainly timeless—Ursula Andress set the bar and four decades later, it is still the benchmark women look to.’

‘The full list suggests curves and an hourglass figure are not just appreciated by men but that it is women too who feel this is the kind of look they should aim for and not just try to be thin.’
