  1. New Omega Advert Online

    By daniel on 2002-10-10

Omega have released a ‘work in progress’ advert through their official website. By playing the Bond fan trivia game, and completing the first level, participants are given the change to download the advert.

The advert, which is missing some CGI of the watch, features new footage from Die Another Day. Included is a scene with Q handing Bond his new watch, commenthing, “Your new watch… the 20th I believe”. Also included is some new footage from the ice chase, part of which is still work in progress and in it’s own right, very interesting to watch.

The advert also features a new mix of the James Bond theme. It’s being speculated that the new music is either from David Arnold’s score or Paul Oakenfield’s James Bond theme remix.

To download the footage, visit the link about and play the James Bond trivia game.

If you’d like to discuss the footage please visit this thread of the Die Another Day Forums. Thanks to Thanasis for the alert.

  2. Legacy Updates With Fleming Question

    By daniel on 2002-10-10

The official James Bond sites 40th Annivesary section which is answering questions by James Bond, The Legacy authors John Cork and Bruce Scivally has today updated.

    The question is in reference to Ian Fleming’s reported appearance in From Russian With Love;

    Hi guys,

First off, great work with the book. I received a review copy yesterday, and I’ve only flicked through a few pages, but so far I’m amazed at the whole thing. I’d buy the book for the pictures alone. Really impressed and as a Bond fan, really greatful!

My question is directed at FRWL. Is there anything in the Eon Productions archives, any bit of information from a crew member, anything at all, that hints at whether or not that is Ian Fleming that can be seen standing near the Orient Express? If there’s one mystery of the Bond world I’d love to see wrapped up, it would be this.

    Regards, Daniel Dykes

I shant go in to full detail here by John and Bruce provide a fantastic indepth answer to the question, and one which will hopefully be regarded as definitive.

You can view the answer by clicking on the link above and then clicking on ‘Question 1 – Daniel Dykes’ under Question Archives.

  3. Madonna Video To Feature in 'Entertainment Tonight'

    By Tim Roth on 2002-10-10

While I – located in Germany – have already seen the “Making the Video” and afterwards the Video of Madonna and have to say “wow”, the United States are still waiting for it. MTV is going to air it around 10 pm New York Time tonight, but you could watch it already 3 hours earlier.

Just catch “Entertainment Tonight” at 7 pm New York Time. Madonna will attend the Show and bits of the Video are going to be shown to the audience! “Tonight on ET, we have video clips of the screen siren wrestling a pack of sadistic prison guards, fencing her double with a gleaming saber, and crashing through a museum of James Bond memorabilia”, Entertainments Tonight’s Website says.

Additionally Madonna will have a talk with Larry King on CNN at 9 pm tonight.

All people who have seen the video and the “Making the Video” already, feel free to discuss the video which is full of Bond references in this thread in CBn’s Die Another Day Forums! And thanks to Fraser and TGO for the tip-off!

  4. 'DAD' Running Time presumably 135 Minutes

    By Tim Roth on 2002-10-10

It seems that the formerly 122 minute running time of “Die Another Day” was incorrect. Forum user “AMVanquish007” claims that some contact at Fox confirmed that the new running time will be 135 minutes. He’s now already the 3rd person telling me of the 135 minutes, so it seems to be true.

“Die Another Day” then would be the 2nd longest Bond film ever, following 1969’s “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service”, which had a running time of 142 minutes at all.

Furthermore “AMVanquish007” claims that “Die Another Day” will receive the 12A Classification in England and the PG-13 Classification in the United States, “for action, violence and sexuality.”

Be sure to discuss this topic in this thread of the Die Another Day Forums!

  5. New DAD Pictures Online

    By daniel on 2002-10-10

DVD Web has posted another gallery of images from Die Another Day.

The new gallery includes pictures of Bond in Iceland (including a good shot of Bond on a ski doo), Will Yun Lee as Colonel Moon and a great shot of Bond fighting Gustav Graves. The latter not only appears to be winning, but it’s also sporting the robotic suit which controls the Icarus sattelite.

You can view the pictures by following the link above

Thanks to Sean for alerting us to the update!

  6. DAD Soundtrack Listing Revealed

    By daniel on 2002-10-09

TowerRecords have released the soundtrack listing for Die Another Day, and it can only be described as disappointing.

    The soundtrack will only feature 11 songs on it, and two of thoses will not the score work by David Arnold. The listing is as follows;

    1. Die Another Day – Madonna
    2. Bond Vs. Oakenfold – (Oakenfold mix)
    3. Gun Barrel / On The Beach
    4. How Do You Intend To Kill Me Now, Mr. Bond?
    5. Hovercraft Chase
    6. Kiss Of Life
    7. Peaceful Fountains Of Desire
    8. Welcome To Cuba
    9. Jinx Jordan
    10. Wheelchair Access
    11. Jinx And James

The reason for a pittance of the score being included is because the CD will feature media, thought at this stage to be a making of Die Another Day. However, so much of the score is missing that Bond fans are sure to be disappointed. Arnold’s opening fo rthe film One The Beach and Hovercraft Chase, both from the pre-title sequence, are sure to be great pieces, however, another promising piece from the Ice Ballet in Iceland is missing.

The issue has to be raised as to whether or not those who buy the album would rather a documentry or more music.

One can only hope that a second soundtrack will be released sometime in 2003 featuring the whole score, as happened with the Tomorrow Never Dies score.

Please be sure to voice your opinion on the listing in this thread of the Die Another Day Forums.

Finally, a big thanks to RE007HQ1 for alerting us to the track listing.

  7. International Trailer Now Online

    By daniel on 2002-10-08

In brief news, Fox Movies UK have updated their site with the International Trailer for Die Another Day.

The trailer is available in two sizes, both of which are in QuickTime Format.

As reported on CBn yesterday, the International Trailer features several different scenes to the US version and has been considered by those who have seen it as the better of the two.

If you’d like to discuss the new version please visit this thread of the Die Another Day Forums.

A big thanks to SAS for the alert to the file.

  8. Theme Song 24 On Charts

    By daniel on 2002-10-08

Warner Brothers Records have announced that Madonna’s Die Another Day theme song will hit stores on October 22nd in the United States.

The move comes in response to the response to the single in its first week of radio play. It’s estimated that the song reached an audience of over 32 million people. Furthermore, it’s expected that the song will debut at position 24 on the US Billboard singles chart.

  9. New 'DAD' Photos Hit Internet

    By Tim Roth on 2002-10-08

UK DVD Online Magazine “DVD Web” has published some new, unseen stills from the latest James Bond Film, “Die Another Day”. The Pictures don’t reveal much, but still two pictures could be seen as Spoiler, so you’ll have to highlight the text to read the description.

    Spoiler (Highlight To Read)

There’s one picture showing beautiful Miranda Frost wearing a sexy black little nothing, fighting Jinx. Some people might see this still as confirmation for the theory Miranda Frost could be the famous traitor in “Die Another Day”. What we know is, that Frost and Jinx are going to meet each other in the film’s finale, taking place in an Antanov airplane. But I can’t think for any reason they’re fighting might be an indication that Miranda Frost is the traitor. We’ll have to see and wait.

Well, the 2nd still isn’t really a spoiler, but there might be people who don’t want to know a lot. So well, it is showing Bond in the Q laboratory, where they “keep the old relics”, holding something what could be identified as Rosa Klebb’s Shoe from “From Russia With Love”.

Anyway, some great pictures here. Please head to this thread in the Die Another Day Forums to discuss the pictures and add your own ideas! And thanks to ‘Palicot’ for the alert!

  10. Details On Trailer Differences

    By daniel on 2002-10-08

As with the second teaser trailer, the international Die Another Day trailer has several differences to the United States version of the trailer.

    ‘C. Tounes’ caught the trailer at a screening of Signs recently and noted that the 12A rated trailer differed in the two following aspects;

    • When Jinx is saying ‘I got the thrust of it’ she and Bond are shown ‘in the act’, whereas, the US trailer shows a Porsche exploding.
    • Included in the trailer is also a two second glimpse of Bond in Graves’ Bio Dome with his Walter P99 in hand.

As forum member ‘MBE’ has pointed out the sex scene was most likely cut out due to ratings restrictions from the MPAA.

European news agencies reported last week that the US version of Die Another Day will have several differences from international versions, for instance the sex scenes may have to be cut out, in order for the film to receive a PG-13 rating.

If you’d like to discuss the news please visit this thread of the Die Another Day Forums.

Thanks to ‘C. Tounes’ and ‘MBE’ for helping with the article.
