The latest Bond game from EA, Pheonix Rising, will apparently have a level based on a scene in Die Another Day. This news comes from the Nintendo Game Cube (NGC) magazine who reported that an early level of the game will be based on the scene in Bond 20 where Bond 20 Spoiler Warning (Highlight To Read) James Bond jumps from a SeaHawk helicopter onto a hovercraft.
Interestingly enough it has been reported that EA have obtained the license for the digital recreations of Die Another Day cast members including Halle Berry, Rosamund Pike and John Cleese. That's extremely promising news as a game for Die Another Day would easily prove to be popular, if released at the same time as the film.
If true it seems a strong possibility that the title 'Pheonix Rising' could actually be EA's cover for a Die Another Day game. If so, it's exciting news.
It was only yesterday I started a post in the forums, longing for Bond to be on the PC again. Well, the folks at Gearbox Software (creators of the Half-Life series) seem to have noticed it; Bond is to return on PC!
The new Bond game for PC is currently being developed by Gearbox for Electronic Arts (the current developers of the Bond games) who created Tomorrow Never Dies, 007 Racing, The World Is Not Enough and the latest, Agent Under Fire.
The game is expected to be a PC version of the forthcoming game Pheonix Rising, which will appear on other platforms.
No other details are known, but the game will have an original story line to it. The game will also be available on console systems.
Bond coming back to the PC has lots of advantages to players compared to it being on a console platform. With the latest Bond games, we'e only been able to play the levels we have on the game, however, with current PC games, players have been able to download new levels to play in multiplayer games across the Internet or Network games. Also, skins can be downloaded and created so you can play as any character you like. Many more things can be achieved with a PC game, so we can't wait to get our hands on it!
Video game creators Electronic Arts will reportedly release a new James Bond adventure in late 2002. This news comes from the magazine Electronic Gaming Monthly. The game is currently titles "Pheonix Rising". It will reportedly be available for PS2, XBox, and Gamecube. Sadly, there seems no hope of ever getting a 007 adventure from EA available on the PC.
No doubt with a late 2002 release date the game will attempt to ride on the success of Bond 20 when it hits cinema screens in November.
EA are also on the lookout for ideas about their new game. The official 007 Gaming site at http://007.ea.com/ has updated with a survey (added under 'News This Week') which asks a variety of questions, including what you'd like to see in future games. I personally appealed to them to make games available to PC platforms as well.
This year the Head 'Director' of the 007 games section is Andrew Lucas. He will run the section for who-knows how long, and we all feel he will do an outstanding job. As for me, I'm off to run CBn's fan-fiction (Over at CMGN)
Shea Bennett.
New Game from EA and MGM Entertainment. Agent Under Fire. Coming Soon, hopefully by christmas our earlier next year. By looks so far only for PSX.
But should be released on PC and other Consoles.
GoldenEye definitely sets the standards of first-person shooters. Anything below it is not even worth buying.
GoldenEye is based on James Bond 17th adventure. In the game you are Bond… James Bond, and must stop the world being destroyed by a Complicated Russian Space Weapon called Goldeneye (dah!) A satellite able to create an explosion in the atmosphere, sending an EMP throughout a thirty mile radius.
A new revolutionary chopper, known as the EuroCopter has been stolen right in front of the worlds highest military representatives, And workers at the Severnaya Weapons Facility in Russia are brutally murdered and the base is mysteriously hit by a massive electro-magnetic pulse (EMP), Wiping out all electronic devices. The Russian Government says it was a training accident gone wrong, Although MI-6 finds a connection between the “accident” and the stolen Helicopter, and that it was no accident. Using a lead they find Goldenye has fallen into the hands of a crime Syndicate JANUS. You mission is to find and stop GoldenEye at any cost!
Goldeneye is a first-person shooter, using Doom-style play but more. First of all you have an amazing array of gadgets and weapons, from a Hunting knife, your trusty PPK, AR33 machine gun to the Moonraker laser! Gadgets also include laser watch, remote mine’s to Door decoders! No doubt you have a wide selection to choose from. The A.I in this game is incredible! When you use a loud weapon, they coming running to you, but if you use a silenced weapon they continue on doing whatever they were doing, swatting flies, scratching their butts–yes!–scratching their butts! Also another great thing is they mostly all die differently (say you shoot them in the groin the grab their “area” and hunch over and fall head first! Or if you shoot them in the butt the jump up an grap to their toush.
The have made this game so similar to the movie. Each level is to be made almost exactly the same as in the movie, for example, in the facility level, the layout is exactly the same and when you enter the level you?ll be jumping up and down on your seating yelling “I’m in the movie, I’m in the Movie!”
And on the Tank level you jump into and control a tank! And the buildings are the same as in the movie, even the posters on the walls!
Also the Mulitplayer is amazing! Up to four players can play at a time! You have a choice of modes, such as, You Only Live Twice (explains itself), The Man With The Golden Gun (One shot kills) and others. You can also choose from levels from the main game.
(And one last thing, when you shoot the walls or glass, it leaves a bullet hole, and the explosions look real and leave smoke afterwards!)
I could go on forever about this game, but I can’t type as fast as I think, and I have to keep it short.
A great game, and the first of it’s kind, I say If you don’t already have it, get it!
We have now added all known cheats (not tips) to our site for the following games:
From PSXextreme:
Even though TWINE was cancelled, EA has introduced a bond game that will make you forget about every other 007 title out there. This new action packed game will be titled James Bond 007 in… Agent Under Fire. Agent Under Fire (AUF) is an independent videogame that has no movie translation to follow, so the developers will now be able to make this game as long as possible. The game engine will still run off of the Quake III PC engine, and will feature some of the prettiest FPS visuals to be found in any game. Not only will AUF be a first person shooter, but racing elements have been implemented into the game as well, so it’s almost like your getting TWINE and 007 Racing in a completely revamped package, neat huh? For now I will provide you fellas and gals with a feature list of James Bond 007 in… Agent Under Fire:
- Single Player mode will take you through many different stages, as you oppose dozens of different enemies.
- Absolutely gorgeous visuals, this is FPS action at its best.
- Various pathways to completing the levels.
- Actual Bond gadgets and some nifty never before seen ones, such as the Q-Claw.
- Secret levels and cars.
- Actual voiceovers to accompany the game’s gameplay and dialogue, that is excluding Q.
- Strategy (sorry always wanted to say that)… strategy will be involved, and so will stealth.
- The audio department should reach the caliber of Medal of Honor status.
- And finally, what you all want to hear… yes! Yes, Agent Under Fire will be a four-player game.
- Currently the game is scheduled for a December 2001 release date, we sure hope it makes it.
You’ll be able to find some screenshots here.
A GoldenEye MOD (based on the N64 game) for Quake III has begun development. For more news about it go to: http://www.quake3mods.net/goldeneye. This is something I’m really looking forward to.
