According to Empire Online Germany has placed a bid to film the next Bond movie in Koln. Apparently, to promote business, they offered EON the chance to film Bond tax free.

  2. Will Blofeld Return?

    By daniel on 2000-01-03

MGM has scored a legal victory with the James Bond franchise, Kevin McLory’s rival seriser has been shutdown indefinetly by the US District Court. The Court has decided that MGM has the sole right to Ian Fleming’s creation.

While talking about the ruling, MGM provided the following statement, “Today’s ruling closes the book on the dispute surrounding the James Bond films triggered by Sony and Mr. McClory. Sony’s settlement agreement last year and the judge’s decision today to dismiss with prejudice McClory’s claim, reaffirm, once and for all, that MGM and Danjaq are the true home of the James Bond movies.”

What does this mean for Bond fans? Only that they won’t have a rival Bond series to watch which technically means less Bond movies. It doesn’t truly effect Bond 20, it only means that Bond 20 won’t have any James Bond competition! However, it does open an interesting position for Bond 20 and all future Bonds. This decision by the US Court does mean that future Bonds could feature any of the character from Thunderball including the infamous Earnst Stavro Blofeld. Bond 20 could get very interesting!!

    By David Winter on 1999-12-13

Not much to say here except good news for MGM and Eon Productions, the team behing The World Is Not Enough.

In every major European country (except Spain) The World Is Not Enough was 1st in ticket sales.

  4. Michael G Wilson talks Bond 20

    By daniel on 1999-11-23

While talking to Film Unlimited, Bond series producer Michael Wilson is revealing what is known so far about James Bond 20 and how it relates to Brosnan. Wilson says, "[The next Bond film] should start in the next two to three years… and Pierce will be on board."

    Well that's a lot isn't it!

  5. Pierce Brosnan's Kinky Bond

    By daniel on 1999-11-15

While talking to the LA Times, Peirce Brosnan has commented, "If it was up to me, you would have scenes that have sex and violence [in future James Bond movies]. That's what this man is about. There would be lovemaking scenes that are palpable, like in Thomas Crown Affair which were easy on the eye and exciting and erotic and tasteful. And I think you can work that into Bond as well." A man after my own heart 🙂 When asked if his Bond would be kinky, Brosnan replied, "Definitely kinky. He was born from the pen of Fleming with a perverseness. There's always a shadow in those stories. And violence, too; this man has a license to kill. But how does he kill? And you [would] see that violence. We've reached a good part of it here in [The World is Not Enough]. But I would love to take the censorship off it without being gratuitous, without being distasteful. Just sort of, ha! So you could be more believable. So you could have both: the intensity of the killing, which is very clinical and matter of fact, and then you go into the humour. You go back to the flip side of things."

  6. Nigel Havers As Bond 20 Villain

    By daniel on 1999-09-23

Though Pierce Brosnan is constantly saying that he wants to take a slightly longer break after his work on The World is Not Enough, producer Barbara Broccoli is still moving forward on plans for Bond 20. According to the Mr. Showbiz website, Broccoli is in negotiations with British actor Nigel Havers (Chariots of Fire, Empire of the Sun) to take on the next film’s villainous role. The site quotes the actor from Matthew Wright’s London Daily Mirror column, saying, "I've always wanted to play a Bond baddie. It would certainly be playing against type."

Personally I wouldn't bank on this rumour turning out to be true as it’s still very early days. You must remember that Anthony Hopkins was originally rumoured to play Alec Trevelyan in Goldeneye and that never happened.

  7. Brosnan Asks For 2002 Timeslot

    By daniel on 1999-08-09

It may be a while before we see another James Bond movie after The World Is Not Enough debuts in November. "It's been a very hectic four, five years since doing GoldenEye and I want to give it some space between doing this Bond movie and the next one,'' Brosnan confided to Entertainment Weekly Online. ''At the end of the year, I'm planning to sit back and take stock of things.'' As previously reported, you can count on Brosnan playing 007 at least one more time. ''I don't think my investigation of the role is over yet,'' he told the site. ''I love playing James Bond, and for me it's just gotten sweeter and better. And it's certainly turned my life around.'' Brosnan's push could see Bond 20 coming out a year later than the original suspected 2001 time slot.

  8. Bond 20 In Production

    By David Winter on 1999-07-28

File this one under “not likely,” but the BBC 1 Radio Newsbeat is reporting that “movie-makers in Hollywood” are working on making the next Bond film a gathering of all the actors who played Bond in one film. They report that while Brosnan is game for another go at the role, that the others have yet to comment on the project. I can’t help but be reminded of those Debunked News of a plethora of previous Bond girls once rumored to be popping up in The World is Not Enough. Everyone’s dreams and they’ll always stay there.

  9. Pierce Brosnan To Return

    By daniel on 1999-06-07

In an online videochat for Omega Watches, Pierece Brosnan was promoting the latest James Bond film The World Is Not Enough by taking question from fans around the world. One question that everyone paid attention to was when one fan asked if Brosnan would return for another chance to play 007. Brosnan confirmed that he had been contracted for 3 films and a 4th optional one. Brosnan said that "If they want me back, I’ll say yes."

Will we see Brosnan return? You bet your Bond Girl we will 🙂

  10. Brosnan Confirmed!

    By daniel on 1999-01-23

With The World Is Not Enough yet to hit cinemas, Bond producer Michael G Wilson has confirmed that Pierce Brosnan will return for at least one more James Bond adventure.

When Brosnan signed for the role in 1999 he signed a three picture contract, with a fourth film being an option for him. Seemingly, Pierce has chosen play James Bond for at least a fourth time.
