  1. Our Look At Nigel Havers

    By daniel on 2000-03-13

Something that we hand’t found but that someone pointed out to us is that the London Daily Mirror had reported that Nigel Havers HAS met with Barbara Broccoli to discuss the role of the Villain in Bond 20.

He told the Mirror “I’ve always wanted to play a Bond baddie. It would certainly be playing against type.” This could be true, but it doesn’t seem that Broccoli takes ‘type’ into consideration. Take Johnathon Pryce for instance. On that note Havers has the experience, including an excellent list of acting roles (http://www.tmaw.webfusion.co.uk/nigelh.html hold the best info)

Havers definetley has a face for a Bond villain. And from a picture you could probably tell a lot. Should Havers get the role his character will not be a muscle character, he’ll be a rich character. Think Elliot Carver or Stromberg. He’ll probably be someone in the public eye as well, Havers has a face that seems warm and friendly.

On that note (and not knowing anything of the actualy script from our sources) I guess that’s all we can reveal for now. That’s all an assumption of course. As more rumours flood out I guess we’ll find more out.

    By daniel on 2000-01-15

The Express has posted an article in regards to cars in Bond 20. Of course it states that Bond may return to the Aston Martin. Click HERE to read it and don’t forget to vote on our poll as to which car Bond should drive.

  8. Leary and De Palma For Bond 20

    By daniel on 2000-01-06

In a report on Dark Horizons yesterday, some interesting rumors and thoughts were put forth regarding the next James Bond movie. First off, sources are reporting that Brian De Palma is “sort of headhunting producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson for the task of helming the next feature.” If this is indeed the case, De Palma might have an uphill battle – the Bond series has been exclusively British when it comes to its directors, from Terence Young on Dr. No to Michael Apted on The World Is Not Enough.

Dark Horizons also published an interesting report from a source who claimed to have spoke with Bond series producer Michael G. Wilson. Wilson is reported to have said that a plot centering on and set in Ireland has been considered (apparently because of Bond actor Pierce Brosnan’s suggestion that Bond go to the Emerald Isle). The source also reported that Wilson mentioned interest in Dennis Leary (The Ref) to play “an Irish-American gangster who heads a SMERSH/SPECTRE type of group.”

  10. Brosnan Signs Up For 7 More Movies

    By daniel on 2000-01-04

It appears that Pierce Brosnan may be around as James Bond for some time to come. According to Empire Online, Brosnan is currently in “secret negotiations” to sign up for not one, but four more James Bond flicks. By the time it’s done, Brosnan will have made seven 007 films. Brosnan’s buddy and 007 stunt double Douglas James explains to the site, “He wants to do seven films in all, equaling Roger’s record and – if you count Never Say Never Again – matching Sean’s total. But his record will be the best – his seventh film will be released in 2007, making it 007 in 007.”
