It has been announced that there is no full script written, despite Neil Purvis and Robert Wade (the scriptwriters for The World Is Not Enough) being signed to the project. However, it is likely that they have written several synopsis’ for consideration.
Marlene has written in to remind us that Casino Royale has been considered as a contender for a Bond 20 plot line.
We must stipulate that it was considered, however, despite the fact that MGM now owns the rights to Casino Royale it is unlikely to be a contender for a Bond movie in the near future.
Here’s an exclusive from our new source The Dandy regarding the Bond 20 Script. There is a false script circulating through the higher heavens (ie. those involved with Bond 20 in one way or another from our level up). It’s titled Vengence Comes To Those Who Hate and it based upon a 1995 students James Bond film. This film has been transcripted and adjusted to seem like it could be a contender for Bond 20 with adjustments to remove ‘Q’ and replace him with ‘R’. This script was found at Pinewood Studios in the canteen and was rumoured to have been accidently left around by the producers of the James Bond series. For those of you who follow Doctor Who you may have made the connection to the fake movie script that was ‘accidently’ left around at a convention. Of course this script must be taken as a hoax to try and start more Bond rumours. I can say that we may have it online soon, the students movie version is on our way out to us (via snail mail) and perhaps we’ll get our hands on that script. Stay tuned for more later!!

Some good news today from EON Productions. Through JamesBond.com they’ve flatly denied rumours that Edward Woodward would replace Dame Judi Dench in Bond 20:

EON Productions has announced, through JamesBond.Com, that recent rumours about Dame Judi Dench leaving the Bond series are false.
News from the Sunday Times in London today. It seems the ultimate Bond girl Shirley Eaton (famous for being cover from head to toe in gold paint) may make a come back in James Bond 20.
Pierce Brosnan has the golden girl to return to the Bond world in the next film and has commented that “She’s the ultimate Bond girl”. It’s a short article, but it’s avaialble here and is about half way down the page.
Eaton did very little after Goldfinger with her acting, appearing in only another 9 movies, some of which were made for television. You can view her filmography at the IMDB.
Though we’ve already debunked the recent rumours about Edward Woodward we just thought we’d run an article on how quickly it’s spreading.

We have more news on The Mirror’s article. First of all before anyone takes it too seriously they are simply a tabloid! Nothing more, nothing less. If that doesn’t say enough they were the first paper to ‘scoop’ the fact that all the James Bond actors would appear in The World Is Not Enough.
Also the ‘crew member’ who The Mirror refers to has written to us and reported several interesting things. To start off with the working title is not Beyond The Ice. Also he says “Judi Dench has not flatly refused her contract. She has simply postponed it’s signing.” On this topic he says that EON Productions want Dame Judi Dench to return. As for the rumours about Edward Woodward he states they are 100% false. The Mirror told him that they needed a name, he created one and they knew that he did it and had no problem publishing it.
London’s The Mirror has printed news on the next James Bond movie. They claim that acclaimed actor Edward Woodward (TV’s “The Equalizer”) is being lined up to play the new ‘M’ in the next 007 film currently using the working title “Beyond the Ice”. While no main plot details were mentioned, this reports indicates one of the subplots would see the retirement of the current M (Dame Judi Dench). A staff member on the production says “It was felt Edward was brilliant in The Professionals’ remake and it was decided he would fit the role of M perfectly”. It is also possible that the opening sequence will be shot in Alaska. The script is currently still being assembled with production not expected to begin till next year.
