The following text is an extract from an official press release which was published by the official James Bond Website this morning:

In a milestone year for Agent 007 – Die Another Day is the 20th film in the Bond franchise and marks the series’ 40th anniversary – this year’s event will also serve as Die Another Day’s World Premiere. 2. Will Yun Lee Gives Cryptic Description Of Colonel Moon

    By daniel on 2002-07-03

Will Yun Lee hasn't exactly been forthcoming with details on his character Colonel Moon. As John007 points out, in a recent interview Will has had little to say about Moon bar a small, intriguing comment.

When asked about his role Will responded, "Basically he's one of the villains in the Bond movie. And he, I would say in the Bond franchise history he's definitly an interesting twist on the villain himself. That's pretty much all i can say".

It's anyones guess as to what that means thought. If you'd like to comment on it, please visit this thread of the Die Another Day Forums. Thanks to John007 for the tipoff!

  3. 'Casino Royale' To Be Released On DVD In US

    By daniel on 2002-07-03

Bond-spoof Casino Royale is to be released in the United States on October 10 this year. To date it appears that no version of the film has been released on DVD inside the United States, though it is readily available internationally.

DVD File have reported that the movie will be presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen with a new 5.1 Dolby Digital remix.

Furthermore, and great news for Bond fans, the DVD will include the original 1954 telemovie movie of Casino Royale as an extra. The telemovie starred Barry Nelson as 'Jimmy Bond'

Other features will include a featurette, trailers and a collectible booklet.

A great DVD for Bond fans and one I'm sure that many fans will want internationally.

  4. Pierce Brosnan Reveals New Plot Detail

    By daniel on 2002-07-03

In an interview with IGN that took place at the Omega Press Conference. Understandably the conversation moved away from the Omega to Die Another Day and Pierce revealed a few interesting details.

Pierce gave a few brief comments about the film, it involves Koreans for instance, however, there was one that caught my eye. Spoiler Warning (Highlight To Read) Pierce mentioned that the film involved James Bond having his identity taken from him, with the rest of the filming involving him trying to get it back from those who originally gave it to him!.

Well what does that mean? There are numerous possibilities. However, the main one that springs to mind is the persistent rumour that after becoming Missing In Action Bond’s official number, 007, is assigned to another agent; none other than Miranda Frost. That would certainly be a loss of identity for Bond and would of course continue on the friction that exists between Bond and M.

  6. Theme Song Rumoured To Premiere At MTV Video Music Awards

    By daniel on 2002-07-02

File this one under rumour and speculation but it's the latest news in the world of Madonna.

It seems that Madonna may be performing at this years MTV Video Music Awards. This years awards will be held on August 28. If you take the rumour that Madonna will perform to be true, then you may find that she'll be performing the title track for Die Another Day.

Why? Well in recent times Bond films have received heavy promotion from MTV. Furthermore, Madonna would only perform a new track to the world-wide audience. And what better promotion than to perform the title track for Die Another Day, which will be released on her forthcoming album.

If correct, it could mean that we'll see the videoclip for Die Another Day's title track in late August, with the single on shelves sometime in early October.

We'll wait, see and hope! Until then you can discuss this news in this thread of the Die Another Day Forums!

  7. MGM Appoint New Worldwide Marketing Executive

    By daniel on 2002-07-02

If there's one thing that MGM have received grief over in recent time it would have to be their marketing efforts, which have been attributed to the flops of films such as Harts War. However, all that could be about to change with the appointment of a new marketing executive who will market MGM's films world-wide.

PRNewswire have reported that Peter Adee will lead MGM's worldwide theatrical marketing efforts for all major film releases, serving as President, Worldwide Marketing, effective immediately. In that capacity, he will be responsible for Publicity, Creative Advertising, Promotions, Research, Media, and related activities.

Adee has worked previously for Universal Studios and has been responsible for the promotion of films such as "A Beautiful Mind," "American Pie 2," "The Mummy Returns," "The Fast and the Furious," and "Jurassic Park 3." Adee replaces Bob Levin, who recently resigned from the position at MGM.

It has been announced that Adee will head the publicity for Die Another Day, and personally I'm hopeful as to what he could do for the film. Undoubtedly his recent track record is strong and should definetly push MGM's film publicity, which in recent times has been lacklustre at best, in the right direction.

Adee will also be responsible for the publicity for Pierce Brosnan's forthcoming film 'Evelyn'.

  9. More behind the scenes footage from DAD

By The CBn Team on 2002-06-28

CBBC news service, Newsround, has some interesting information on the sword fight we have been hearing about for some months. Even more interesting are these pictures, depicting a scene we have yet to see either in footage or stills.

This first image shows Bond and Graves seemingly having just finished a take. We can also see Bond appears to have a bloody nose, as director Tamahori has previously mentioned, Bond is going to have a rough time in Die Another Day.

The second image, from the same scene, shows Bond being kicked in the face by Graves while duelling on the steps.

Both images are from the fight scene at 'Blades'. Earlier in the year there was speculation as to who Bond would duel with during the fight sequence. Although initial thoughts pointed towards Miranda Frost, this has apparently cleared up the matter. The video footage shows elements of the teaser trailer, plus the fight scene, which takes place at studio set at Pinewood. The fight sequence looks to be extremely intense and director Tamahori explains it will conclude within one of the water fountains in Blades' grounds.

The video footage also reveals that the scene will be towards the beginning of the movie, it is possible the scene fits in after Graves' press conference, and possible knighting at Buckingham Palace.

The 2 minute video footage can be downloaded here
