  1. 'Double Or Die' US Audiobook Pushed To January 2008

    The Young Bond Dossier reports that the release date of the US audiobook edition of Charlie Higson’s third Young Bond novel, Double Or Die, has been pushed back to 22 January 2008.

    Originally scheduled for a July 2007 release, the audiobook will be released from Listening Library (as was the case with SilverFin and Blood Fever, the latter due out next month).

    James Bond fans can pre-order the Double Or Die audiobook at amazon.com, where it is currently discounted to $18.48. The US hardback edition is set for release on 25 June.

    CBn first reported back in January that the German edition of Charlie Higson’s third Young Bond novel, Double Or Die (to be published under the title GoldenBoy) was set to be released in March 2007.

    According to an update from the Young Bond Dossier, the release date of the Young Bond novel has since slipped to April.

    Using a completely different cover art design, (the German editions of SilverFin and Blood Fever used the same UK cover artwork) the novel will once again be published by Arena.

    After months of waiting for details regarding the US release of Charlie Higson’s newest Young Bond novel, Double Or Die, a date has finally been revealed: 25 June 2007–reports the Young Bond Dossier.

    Young Bond fan ‘Silvereel’ of the Young Bond Forums landed the scoop by simply phoning a bookstore and inquiring about the release (there is still no official announcement of the US release of Double Or Die).

    The novel will be published in a hardback edition by Random House (who is no stranger to the world of Young Bond having published the 1967 novel 003 1/2 The Adventures Of James Bond Junior). The two previous Young James Bond adventures, SilverFin and Blood Fever, were both published by Miramax Books/Hyperion.

    Cover art has not yet been revealed.

  4. French 'Double Or Die' Could Be Released As Early As April 2007

    According to the Young Bond Dossier, the French edition of Charlie Higson’s newest Young Bond novel, Double or Die, could be released as early as April 2007.

    The Young Bond novel will be published under the title Reussir ou Mourir and is set to be released on 12 April. However, this contradicts an earlier report stating the book would be released until January 2008.

    JamesBond-fr.com and the Young Bond Dossier are currently seeking confirmation from the publisher, Gallimard Jeunesse, on which date is correct. Higson’s first two Young Bond novels, SilverFin and Blood Fever, were previously publshed by the same company.

  6. Charlie Higson Discusses James Bond On Celebrity Mastermind

    According to the Young Bond Dossier, Charlie Higson will be answering questions about James Bond on an episode of Celebrity Mastermind. Note that this is a repeat episode. It originally aired before Higson was announced as the Young Bond author.

    To be broadcast on BBC Prime, viewers can catch the show at 11:00 on Saturday, 10 February 2007. ‘BBC Prime is an English language subscription channel, available via cable and satellite to Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. It is not available in the UK or U.S.’

    The Young Bond Dossier has been updated with details regarding new publications of Charlie Higson’s first two Young Bond novels, SilverFin and Blood Fever, in Russia and Sweden.

    A paperback edition of SilverFin is due out in March 2007 in Sweden, while a hardback edition of Blood Fever will be released in June. Click here and here for the Russian and Swedish Young Bond cover art.

    Meanwhile, Higson’s newest Young Bond novel, Double Or Die recently moved into its second UK printing and is in the top three on the Children’s bestseller charts.

  8. Charlie Higson's 'Double Or Die' Drops To #2

    After quickly moving into the #1 spot on the UK children’s bestseller charts, Charlie Higson’s newest Young Bond novel, Double or Die has currently dropped to the #2 spot overall for the week.

    Previously, Higson’s Blood Fever maintained the #1 spot for several weeks when it was released in January 2006. We’ll have to see whether or not Double or Die moves back up to the top.

    Additionally, the novel has already moved into a second printing in the UK, after the first quickly sold out in only a few weeks.

    In comparison to Higson’s other Young James Bond adventures, Blood Fever was in its second printing in the UK within two weeks of its release. A second printing of SilverFin came out simultaneously with the first in order to correct the date error that was first discovered on CBn.

    After entering the UK children’s bestseller charts at the #2 spot last, the Young Bond Dossier reports that Higson’s Double or Die has now moved up to the #1 spot.

    Additionally, the newest Young Bond novel moved up to the #12 spot on the UK bestseller chart for all books in the second week after debuting at #14.
