  2. Michael Madsen talks about Damian Falco – again!

    By David Winter on 2002-07-18

    Michael Madsen, who plays Damian Falco in Die Another Day, has again talked about his character. Coming Attractions report;

Michael Madsen was on the BBC this morning, talking about his proposednew UK film Red Light Runners, currently searching for funding ($2 million is in the bag; another $6 M being sought). Madsen briefly spoke about his role in the upcoming Bond flick, Die Another Day. Originally Madsen's character, Falco, was Spoiler Warning (Highlight To Read)written as an out-and-out bad guy, but when he came on-board the project, the part was rewritten with him in mind to become a more ambiguous role, similar to Robbie Coltrane’s character in GoldenEye and The World is Not Enough. . Madsen also revealed his character will reoccur, possibly in Bond 21 and Bond 22 (that is, presumably if those future writers chose to include him in their stories).

  4. Clarification On Mondays Screening of Die Another Day

    By daniel on 2002-07-18

'Uther Pendragon' has written in to clarify details about Monday's screening of Die Another Day at the Oden in London.

Contrary to previous reports, the whole of Die Another Day was not screened on Monday. Rather, only key scenes from the were. These keys scenes included the pre-title sequence and sequences from the Ice Palace.

The footage did include music by David Arnold, however, it was music from his scores for Tomorrow Never Dies and The World Is Not Enough.

Two versions of the footage were screened. The first was a standard 35mm print of the footage, however, the second was a digital print. The latter print will of course lead to speculation that Die Another Day may be seen in some theatres digitally.

While Monday's screening was only about 15 minutes worth of footage, the full film will be screened for the first time in August at the Odeon.

If you'd like to discuss the news please do so in this thread of the Die Another Day Forums.

Thanks to 'Uther Pendragon' for sending in that news.

  6. Goldmember May Not See New Trailer

    By daniel on 2002-07-18

'Costa' has written back in to clarify about the Die Another Day trailer attached to Austin Powers Goldmember, and it seems it may not be good news for Bond fans.

'Costa' has told us that the trailer begins with the girls and the ice gun. Of course, that all indicates that the trailer attached to Austin Powers Goldmember will be the original teaser trailer that's already premiered across the Internet.

While the initial trailer was a success to begin with a lot of people now treat it as lack-lustre. When it's compared to trailers such as 'The Hulk' it clearly doesn't hold up on its own. This is reflected by the Top Trailers listing at Yahoo Movies, Die Another Day is no longer in the top twenty.

  7. New 'Bond Girl' Cosmetic Brand To Be Released

    By daniel on 2002-07-16

A new brand of cosmetics called 'Bond Girl' will appear on shelves world-wide later this year.

'Bond Girl' will feature a wide range of products including perfume, hair care products and cosmetics. At this stage it is still unknown as to whether or not the Bond Girl products will be a part of the Revlon tie-in campaign with Die Another Day.

The products will be released in November to co-incide with the release of Die Another Day. A similair line of products was released in 1965 to co-incide with the release of Thunderball, the year when 'Bond-mania' reached its peak. The products then included mens aftershave, there is still no word on whether or not a male line shall be released as well.

The 'Bond Girl' line will reportedly have two former Bond Girls as its 'face'. The first Bond Girl Ursula Andress and Sophie Marcaeu will both be working to promote the cosmetic line.

As spokesman for the project said that "Bond girls are strong women who know how to take care of themselves" and that the cosmetic line would be marketed accordingly.

Thanks to 'Colonel Moon' for sending the news in to us.

  8. Exclusive: New Trailer To Screen With Goldmember

    By daniel on 2002-07-16

When Austin Powers Goldmember hits theatres this Friday in the United States and United Kingdom, Bond fans will be in for a treat. Screening with the third Austin Powers film, Goldmember, will be the Die Another Day trailer.

Goldmember is distributed by New Line Cinema who made an agreement with MGM earlier in the year that saw them able to use Goldmember as the films title, but also required them to screen the Die Another Day trailer with the film. To ensure that theatres show the trailer it is attached to the first reel of Goldmember, other trailers are likely to come on a separate reel.

There is no word yet on the content of the trailer but CommanderBond.Net has been told that it's a different trailer than that released earlier this year. Whether that means this trailer is a full trailer or another teaser trailer, one can only speculate.

'Costa' wrote in to tell us about the new trailer after they viewed Goldmember recently. They admit to not being a huge Bond fan and not having seen the first trailer. But they assured us, the trailer they had just viewed as "awesome".

Only time will tell, until then keep your eyes peeled to the official Bond site, Yahoo Movies and your local movie theaters.

As soon as we find out more, you can be sure you'll read it here at CommanderBond.Net!

If you'd like to discuss this news please do so in this thread of the Die Another Day Forums! And you can look up Austin Powers Goldmember in this listing in the CBn 007 Calendar.

  9. Rough Cut of DAD Screened At Odeon

    By daniel on 2002-07-16

Mr Kiss Kiss Bang Bang have reported that a rough cut version of Die Another Day was screened this morning in London.

The screening was held at the Odeon, Leicester Square, and was attended by Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson and other key Eon Productions staff. The same print is likely to be viewed by key MGM and 20th Century Fox personnell in Los Angeles.

Due to the nature of the screening it is unlikely that any information will leak out to the public, the best we can hope for is a comment which will undoubtedly be positive.

Other test screenings will be likely to occur later in the year as the film nears completion, they'll be held with public audiences to attempt to gauge the publics opinion of the film. Todays version would most likely include scenes in the film that the public will never get to see as they'll end up on the cutting room floor.

If you'd like to discuss the screening please visit this thread of the Die Another Day Forums. And a big thanks to 'john007' for alerting us to the news.

  10. Sir Sean To Play Spy One More Time

    By daniel on 2002-07-16

Actor Sir Sean Connery is to play a spy at least one more time Ananova has reported. However, this time Connery won't be working for Her Majesty's Secret Service, rather, the CIA.

The new film titled End Game will be filmed at Pinewood Studio's in the UK and also in America and the Middle East.

The films co-producers Mandalay Pictures have revealed that Connery won't be "a James Bond clone" in End Game. "Sir Sean will be playing a CIA agent much closer to his own age. He is up against the odds, resourceful and witty but he has to rely on others to help him out. And when it comes to the action, Sir Sean uses his intelligence first."

The movie begins filming this October.
