  1. Second James Bond 007 'Ultimate Edition' Region 1 Release Date Announced

    It was previously announced on CBn that the first two boxed sets of the James Bond 007 ‘Ultimate Edition’ DVDs (containing 10 of the 20 films) would be released on 7 November 2006.

    Now, thanks to DVD Times a release date for the other two boxed sets (containing the other 10 films) has been announced: 12 December 2006.

    Each boxed set will retail for $89.98 each. Currently no complete collection or individual releases have been announced.

    Volume 1 (Gold Box Set – 7 November): Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever, The Man With The Golden Gun, The Living Daylights, and The World Is Not Enough

    Volume 2 (Red Box Set – 7 November): Thunderball, The Spy Who Loved Me, A View To A Kill, Licence To Kill, and Die Another Day

    Volume 3 (12 December): From Russia With Love, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, Live And Let Die, For Your Eyes Only, and GoldenEye

    Volume 4 (12 December): Dr. No, You Only Live Twice, Moonraker, Octopussy, and Tomorrow Never Dies

  2. 'Filming The Casino Part 2: The Action' Video Online

    Originally split into two parts, the second half of the ‘Filming The Casino’ Casino Royale video is now available for viewing here on Moviefone.

    Featuring scenes at the casino table between James Bond and Le Chiffre, (as well as commentary by Daniel Craig and Mads Mikkelsen) Jeffrey Wright who plays the role of Felix Leiter in the film also comments on the scene.

    Producer Michael G. Wilson explains how they had to hire nine other people to play against 007. ‘We’ve had to educate all the actors so they look like poker pros,’ he says.

  3. 007 'Ultimate Edition' DVDs Set For October Release In France

    Following up the recent announcement that the James Bond 007 ‘Ultimate Edition’ DVDs will be released in the US (November/December) and Japan (November) comes the news of a French release in October.

    According to this page at amazon.fr is the limited edition attache case containing all twenty James Bond films will be released on 25 October 2006. Click here to view the French DVD covers of all twenty 007 films.

  4. New Casino Royale Trailer Due In September

    According to the German James Bond website, jamesbond.de, a new trailer for the 21st official 007 film, Casino Royale will be released in German theaters in September.

    The article claims that this new Casino Royale theatrical trailer news is official – it was obtained from Sony Pictures.

    The first (and so far only) teaser trailer for Casino Royale was first released back in early May. The previous James Bond film, 2002’s Die Another Day featured two teaser trailers and one final theatrical trailer.

  5. Sir Sean Connery Is Star Guest At Edinburgh Film Festival

    Sir Sean Connery was the star guest at the 60th anniversary party of the Edinburgh International Film Festival – reports the BBC.

    Connery was presented with a Bafta Scotland Award for Outstanding Achievement in Film in addition to taking part in a forum where he discussed his rise to fame over the years.

    ‘It’s been going for 60 years and is the one continuous festival recognised by people like John Houston and Steven Soderbergh,’ said Connery. ‘Seventeen years ago he brought Sex, Lies and Videotape here – which sounds a bit like the Labour government. Anybody in the film world or who knows anything about movies is a supporter because it has produced lots and lots of successes, and it will produce even more because we have a plan to develop it even further.’

  6. 'Dr. No' And 'Goldfinger' Screenings In September 2006

    Two James Bond 007 film screenings are set for this upcoming September in California.

    Both starring Sean Connery, Dr. No and Goldfinger will be shown on Saturday, 13 September and 20 September respectively, at Arc Light Cinemas in Los Angeles, California. Show times are to be announced.

  8. Sir Sean Connery In Talks To Turn Animation Project Into Full-Length Feature

    The Scotsman reports that Sir Sean Connery and Glasgow Animation are currently in talks to raise a further £3 million in hopes of turning his comeback animation project into a full-length film.

    Connery will be providing the voice for the main character in the temporarily titled Sir Billi, an animation film from the minds of Sascha and Tessa Hartmann. It has been in development for over three years.

    While originally planned to be a short film, ‘the Hartmanns and Connery say that international interest, together with the strength of the cast, has persuaded them to make a feature-length movie. It has yet to be decided whether to aim for cinema distribution or go straight to DVD.’

    Available for pre-order at amazon.co.jp is the limited edition attache case containing all twenty 007 films as well as the Bond Girls Are Forever documentary as a bonus. It is set for release on 22 November 2006.

  10. Sideshow George Lazenby Legacy Edition Figure Preview

    A new Sideshow James Bond Legacy Edition figure has been announced: George Lazenby.

    The Sideshow George Lazenby Legacy Edition figure is the fifth in this new line of James Bond figures. Click here for the first preview picture of this new 007 figure.

    This new 12″ James Bond figure is accompanied by the announcement of the Roger Moore Premium Format figure and the four other Legacy Edition figures: Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, and Pierce Brosnan.

    This James Bond figure is estimated to ship in the fourth quarter of 2006, and will most likely retail at $44.99 – the same amount as the previous four James Bond Legacy Edition figures.
