  1. CBn Forums Reach 12,000 Threads

By The CBn Team on 2003-11-12

Coinciding with the birthday of James Bond, the fan forums of CommanderBond.net reached 12,000 threads on 11 November 2003. The 12,000th thread on the forums happened to be “Things That Should Not Happen In A Bond Movie, Part 1”.

CBn has grown enormously to become the one stop for Bond and the most popular Bond site on the internet since it’s birth in 2001, and this landmark goes to prove that.

  2. CBn Forums Hit An All Time High!

    By Brett McAleer on 2003-07-04

Just to let everyone know that the CBn Forums has achieved it’s busiest day ever of 106 users online at the same time, earlier today.

This was helped mostly by the How about South Africa… thread, which includes news of Bond 21 pre-production details. The thread is only two and a half days old, but it’s already had over 1,000 views with 100 posts.

All the forum members, please give yourself a pat on the back.

Amazing what some news on the next Bond movie can do.

Remember, this is just the begining! CBn will keep you informed of all the latest developments in the next James Bond movie as they become known.

  3. 007 Days of 007 – A Tribute To Dr No

It’s been almost forty years since premier of Dr No in London on October 5, 1962 and to celebrate CommanderBond.Net will be presenting a special tribute to the first film from our favourite cinematic film series.

Beginning Sunday September 29 and running till October 5 CommanderBond.net will be presenting a series of special articles that all share one core thing, Dr No and the 40th Annivesary of the cinematic James Bond.

  4. Donations: Please Help Keep CBn Online

    By David Winter on 2002-09-22

CBn is now back…what do you all think? Please leave all your feedback at this thread in the CBn Forums.

Now we have our new dedicated server, the costs of upkeep are a lot more, than that of a year ago. The donations from CBn’s last campaign have nearly gone, but it did the job, in keeping the server online, coping with over 5 million hits each month and rising this month.

It’s time to ask for your financial support…again.

We’ve proved that we can jump the biggest of hurdles because we have kept on running against the odds.

Even when the site has been down – we’ve always come back, bigger and better. And during our latest “incident”, our forums reached the milestone of 1000 members – without the support of the main site – that can’t be bad.

So, if you can give a donation (please click on the button below), however big or small, it will help to keep the site running.

As always, I want to emphasise that every penny, cent etc goes into the site costs.

Each and every member on the site works on a totally voluntary basis, purely wanting to promote the James Bond phenomenon – nothing more, nothing less.

  5. CBn Is Back…As Promised

    By David Winter on 2002-09-15

Around a month ago, it didn’t look as though CBn would survive. However, the team have been hard at work the last month, and today we present back to you, CBn.

For regular CBn visitors, you’ll notice the return of the “Latest Post” feature at the top right of all pages. This keeps you up-to-date on the discussions going on in the CBn Forums which have recently reached the 1000 member mile stone. Also, the Search function is back so that visitors can search through our content, and for your convienience, we’ve added a small search box on each page, over on the right hand column.

Due to the legal pressures we’ve had, the site has been forced to create new graphics for the entire site. The CBn Team have been hard at work all the time we’ve been down, creating new graphics for the films, games and other sections all around the site.

In addition, for the safety of the fans, the producers of the James Bond films stated that we had to remove all images from the films etc.

A big thankyou to Greg for working hard and taking up his time while on Holiday to complete the new web script for CBn. Thanks for putting up with me 😉 Another big thankyou to Evan for the new CBn graphics – even with the legal barriers, the graphics have come out looking fantastic.

A big thankyou all the rest of the team who’ve helped the site get through the last traumatic month, and I ask everyone to raise their martini’s to the future of CBn!

“We were shaken, but not stirred.”

We are sorry for the temporary closure of the CBn forums. Problems have arisen due to a hacker who has been monitoring the site, and this decision was taken in the best interest of our users.

The forums will be up again as soon as possible.
    Thank you!

    By daniel on 2002-07-18

Late yesterday the 850th member was welcomed into the CommanderBond.net Forums! The forums have been open since February 2001 and those who have enjoyed that time will tell you it's been a long journey. There have been site crashes, face lifts, missing posts, but the most important thing that has existed is inarguably community.

The forums are dedicated to the discussion of all things James Bond, and as they've continued to grow all the staff at CommanderBond.net have endeavoured to ensure that everything James Bond has its place in the forums.

With over 3,780 threads on varying aspects of 007, which account for 40,275 individual posts, the CommanderBond.net Forums are undoubtedly one of the most popular James Bond forums on the Internet.

So please stop by and take a look, and if you like what you see join us in discussing all things James Bond. Especially Die Another Day!

  10. CBn Forums Back Online

    By Luke Freeman on 2002-06-28

CommanderBond.net is pleased to announce that our forums are back online, primed and ready for plenty of Bond discussion. Yeah, there have been a few technical difficulties over the last week or so. Seems that Dave's pet monkey broke loose and chewed into some of the vital hardware, apparently this sort of behavior isn't uncommon during mating season. But it's all been taken care of now (thanks to a tranquilizer gun and a banana), and with our brand new server there will hopefully be no further difficulties. We apologize for any interruptions.
