  1. Charity Screening Tickets For Auction

    By daniel on 2002-11-03

It’s November and the Charity Screenings for Die Another Day are literally only days away, and tickets for both the United States and United Kingdom Charity Screenings are now being auctioned off on eBay.

First off, the Motion Picture and Television Fund are auctioning off two tickets to the US Charity Screening, from which they will benefit. Up for auction are four tickets to the November 11 Screening. The tickets will entitle the winners to walk down the red carpet, watch Die Another Day and gain entry to the VIP after-party. The US Charity Screening auction can be found here.

Tickets for the Royal Premier have also appeared on eBay, however, unlike the US tickets these are a private auction. For auction are 2 side balcony/circle tickets at the Royal Albert Hall on November 18. That auction can be found here.

While the tickets do seem expensive, it goes without saying that they are extremely rare and would make for a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Thanks to Viper for the alert.

  2. Madonna's Single Debuts at Three

    By daniel on 2002-11-03

Madonna’s Die Another Day title song is making waves around the world as the single goes on sale in stores.

In the United Kingdom the title song has debuted in third spot. In front of it are ‘Heaven’ by DJ Sammy and ‘Dilemma’ by Nelly; this is also ‘Heaven’s first week in the charts. There is debate as to whether or not the single will raise any higher in the charts as it is common for UK singles to peak in their debut position.

On the United States Billboard Hot 100 the single has reached eighth position.

If you’d like to discuss the chart position please visit this thread of the Die Another Day Forums. Thanks to Loomis for the news alert.

  3. Credits and End Titles Online

    By daniel on 2002-11-02

In an unexpected move the official James Bond has updated with new details on Die Another Day.

The details deal with the ‘behind the scenes’ information, including production notes, filming locations, cast and crew notes and also the end credits sequence.

The end credits sequence reveals a lot of Die Another Day information including details on another song to be included in the film. The song is “London Calling” by London ‘punk group’ The Clash, and was written in the 1970’s. It has been speculated that the song will play over the end credits of Die Another Day, though it seems highley unlikely. Paul Oakenfold’s remix was originally slated for the end credits so it seems that ‘London Calling’ will feature somewhere in the actual film.

If you’d like to discuss the update please visit this thread of the Die Another Day Forums. Thanks to JFM007 for the news alert.

  4. US Charity Premier Details Released

    By daniel on 2002-11-01

Los Angeles will be the lucky host of the US Charity screening of Die Another Day, set to take place on November 11.

The invite-only event will be held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles at 7:30 in the evening. Invitations to the event have only been handed over the past few days.

There are no details on whether or not any of the cast and crew from Die Another Day will attend the premier, which is being called the ‘Special Benefit Screening’. Proceeds from the screening will go to The Motion Picture and Televion Fund.

If you’d like to discuss the screening please visit this thread of the Die Another Day Forums.

  5. David Arnold Interview Online

    By daniel on 2002-10-30

An indepth interview with David Arnold, the man behind the scores for Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day, is now up at Move Poop Shoot, the site which last week reviewed the Die Another Day Soundtrack.

The interview covers a lot of Arnold’s participation with Die Another Day, speaking of how he was approached to score the film after completing The World Is Not Enough right through to details on how particular areas of the film have been scored.

Of particular interest is Arnold’s mentioning of a song he and Don Black had begun to write for the film. Entitled “I Will Return” Arnold says, “Well, we had kind of started working on a song that remains unfinished. The theme of the song is in the film and is called “I Will Return”… Don came up with an amazing first verse, which set me off. We started on it but then found out pretty quick that there wasn’t going to be an opportunity to place it as a song in the film or on the End Titles. So we’ll save it for the next one because it’s dead good!” While fans may have to wait till 2004 to hear the song, Arnold did mention that, like Surrender from Tomorrow Never Dies, elements will appear in the Die Another Day score.

Arnold also speaks of the possibility of a later release of the full Die Another Day score, an idea sure to please Bond fans.

You can visit Movie Poop Shoot for the full interview.

  6. Another TV Spot Online

    By daniel on 2002-10-30

Promotions for Die Another Day continue to heat up with the release of a new TV Spot on the Internet. A Polish site, FilmWeb, has released the spot.

The spot features only three new glimpses from the film; Jinx in the Ice Palace, Zao in Cuba and Bond in the Ice Dragster. Aside from the new footage the TV Spot is mostly a culmination of the first and second teaser trailers, with additional footage supplied from recently released TV Spots.

The TV Spot is being incorrectly regarded as a new teaser trailer. As ‘MBE’ points out this TV Spot has already aired on US TV during the World Series and possibly during WWF Smackdown on TNN.

The TV Spot is downloadable in a variety of formats from FilmWeb.

If you’d like to discuss the TV Spot please visit this thread of the Die Another Day Forums. Thanks to ‘john007’ for the alert.

  8. New Character Pictures Online

    By daniel on 2002-10-29

RTL.de has updated their site with new character pictures from Die Another Day.

Some of the pictures, released by Fox International, have previously appeared online and won’t be completely new to all Bonds. There are, however, some new shots of characters, including Gustav Graves and Zao, which are new. The Graves photo should be of particular interest to Bond fans as it gives a clear look at Icarus’ control glove.

If you’d like to discuss the pictures please visit this thread of the Die Another Day Forums. Thanks to Stromberg for the alert.

  9. Another International One Sheet Revealed

    By Tim Roth on 2002-10-28

The French James Bond Club has revealed another official One Sheet for Die Another Day, which looks like the One Sheet revealed last week. I would call the new one a developped version of the other One Sheet. You can have a look at the new poster here.

However, this is already the 4th official One Sheet I count. We have the two international one’s, which can be seen here and here, and the US One Sheet, which is a developpment of the 2nd teaser poster, viewable here. Additionally, I’ve seen yet another one at my local cinema on the weekend, you can see a low resolution image of it on Ebay. I was told by a cinema employee that this is also an official One Sheet for Die Another Day.

Seems the ad campaign is very strange. While buses in Manchester and other English cities carry DAD posters, the official James Bond Website doesn’t have any information on any of the Final One Sheets.

But be sure to discuss the topic in this thread of CBn’s Die Another Day Forums! And thanks to ‘john007’, ‘mrmoon’ and ‘cyris’ for all the information!

  10. Rachel Grant Confirms Role

    By daniel on 2002-10-27

In an interviewith the Daily Mail actress Rachel Grant has confirmed her role in Die Another Day is that of a Chinese Agent.CommanderBond.Net has further learned that Grant’s character will appear in a scene of the film set in Hong Kong, with Grant’s character posing as a masseuse.

The Daily Mail interview includes a photo of Bond and Grant’s character struggling for a pistol.

It could seem that Grant’s character may be ‘that type’ of masseuse, but Bond isn’t that type of customer.
