  1. Skyfall Run Time and Rating Revealed?

    By Matthew Harkin on 2012-09-07

Empire Cinemas has added the running time of Skyfall as 145 minutes, excluding trailers and advertisements. The site also lists ‘Skyfall’ under the 12A category. If true, then ‘Skyfall’ will surpass Casino Royale’s running time by a mere minute and make it the longest James Bond film in the series. CommanderBond.net must stress that before the BBFC have officially rated Skyfall, then this news should be taken with a pinch of salt, as rumours of a 150 minute run time have been making the rounds for a few months now.

Special thanks to ‘TheSilhouette’ for the alert.

  2. Skyfall Soundtrack coming October 22nd?

    By Matthew Harkin on 2012-09-07

‘Skyfall’ marks Thomas Newman’s first shot at scoring a Bond film, and the first Bond film in 15 years to mark the absence of composer David Arnold, who worked on 5 consecutive James Bond movies, from 1997’s ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’, to 2008’s ‘Quantum of Solace’.

Amazon have listed the ‘Skyfall’ soundtrack, with a release date of October 22nd. Nothing has been officially confirmed yet, but if the previous few Bond films are anything to go by, then October 22nd seems like an ideal release date. No track listing’s have been added, but you can rely on CommanderBond.net to inform you as soon as they become available.

It is still unknown as to whether the yet to be announced title track will be available on the soundtrack, but if the releases for ‘Casino Royale’ and ‘Quantum of Solace’ is anything to go by, I wouldn’t hold your breath.

A close friend of Sam Mendes,  Newman’s most famous works include, The Shawshank Redemption, American Beauty and The Green Mile, so expectations are at an all time high.

Special thanks to ‘Shrublands’ for the alert.

  4. Daniel Craig talks ‘Skyfall’, Mendes and the allure of Bond.

    By Matthew Harkin on 2012-09-04

Speaking with the latest issue of Esquire,  The 44 year old actor, who is returning to the role of James Bond for a third time next month, has agreed to talk all things Bond.

“I think what’s always fantastic about the Bond stories is that there’s always a darkness involved, but it’s a darkness with a sense of humour. A black humour. It’s about danger, but a good danger, because you’re in the hands of somebody who’s saying ‘F**k you’ to risk, ‘F**k you’ to dying.”

  9. Moore: “Craig is the best Bond.”

    By Matthew Harkin on 2012-08-28

Roger Moore, star of 7 James Bond movies has revealed his favourite James Bond actor is indeed current Bond star Daniel Craig. The 84 year old actor, and author of Bond on Bond, has applauded Daniel Craig’s acting ability, “I loved Casino Royale and Daniel Craig. He is a wonderful actor, certainly the best actor to play Bond. I have never been guilty of method acting, or even acting if you want to argue a point.”.

As Quantum of Solace, Craig’s second Bond outing, left a sour taste in the mouths of some Bond fans, Moore has stated that he hopes that James Bond latest adventure will be a touch on the lighter side. “I believe that Skyfall is going to have a lot more humour in it than Quantum of Solace did, something I’ll be pleased to see.”
