  2. Two James Bond Baddies Attending Hollywood Collectors Show

    James Bond fans can meet up with two of the villains from the series later this month in California.

    Scheduled to attend the Hollywood Collectors Show on 14-15 February are Richard Kiel (Jaws in The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker) and Yahpet Kotto (Dr. Kananga/Mr. Big in Live and Let Die).

    Both Bond film actors will be appearing alongside several other celebrities at the grand event, which will be held at the Burbank Airport Marriott Hotel & Convention Center. In addition, Mr. Kiel will be signing copies of his book Making it BIG in the Movies.

  3. Two James Bond Film Stars At WonderCon 2009

    Two stars from the James Bond series are scheduled to attend San Francisco’s WonderCon 2009 in late February.

    Fans can meet up with Richard Kiel (Jaws in The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker) and David Hedison (Felix Leiter in Live and Let Die and Licence To Kill) at the 23rd instalment of the hugely popular comics and popular arts convention.

    WonderCon 2009 will be taking place between Friday, 27 February and Sunday, 1 March 2009. Membership pricing is split into advance and on-site breakdowns:

    The Spring 2009 Memorabilia event–the UK’s longest running and most established event for fans of movies, cult tv, comics, video games, sport and music–currently has nine 007 film alumni attending, including fan-favourite Richard Kiel.

    Ottawa’s Mayfair Theatre is treating James Bond fans to a double-dose of 007 all month long.

    From 17 to 31 January, 007 double bills will be screened on Saturday matinees and Monday evenings, featuring classics such as Sean Connery’s Dr. No and From Russia with Love and modern adventures such as Daniel Craig’s Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace.

  6. James Bond Gets HD Treatment From Sky Movies

    James Bond fans tuning into Sky Movies in the UK will be treated to high-def 007 in the upcoming future.

    According to the Hollywood Reporter, the broadcaster has signed a new deal with MGM Studios that gives them the rights to 10 films from the series, including From Russia with Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, Casino Royale and others.

    The deal will also make these HD-presentations of the Bond films available on the on-demand service Sky Anytime.

    Sky Movies director Ian Lewis said that Bond was the ‘ultimate movie franchise for high definition, the ultimate television experience.’

    Fans will recall that Casino Royale made its first HD television premiere on Christmas Day in 2007, following the Queen’s speech.

  7. Honor Blackman To Host 007 Concert In July

    Bond girl Honor Blackman, famous for her role as Pussy Galore in 1964’s Goldfinger, will be the guest of honour at an upcoming James Bond-themed concert later this year.

    Blackman will host the ‘Licenced to Thrill’ concert, which will take place on Sunday, 12 July as part of Llangollen 2009 in Wales. Songs such as ‘Goldfinger’ and ‘You Only Live Twice’ among others are slated to be performed.

    Featuring the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera, vocalists Mary Carewe and Simon Bowman, and hosted by Honor Blackman.
