The Times of India reports that Casino Royale will be setting a unique record upon its theatrical release in India.
The 21st James Bond film has been marked with 500 prints for release–the highest ever for any Hollywood film. The previous record was 304 prints for 2004’s Spider-Man 2. Pierce Brosnan’s final 007 outing, Die Another Day had 261.
‘James Bond has a huge equity in India and his films have always been a hit in this country,’ said Uday Singh of Sony Pictures, India.
A film trade analyst was quoted as saying: ‘Till about two years ago, Hollywood films would release in India almost two months after their worldwide release. The change underlines the business Hollywood films now get in India.’
