    The 13th Annual California Independent Film Festival will be screening The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker as part of their classic films program. Not only will the films get honored on the big screen but they will be followed by a Q&A and lobby appearance by the menacing Jaws himself. That’s right Richard Kiel, who I might add is not menacing in real life, is looking forward to bonding with you!

  8. Tom Mankiewicz (1942-2010)

    We have been informed by a trusted source that screenwriter Tom Mankiewicz, who had recently been battling cancer, passed away Saturday in Los Angeles at the age of 68. This news has yet to be officially confirmed by the Mankiewicz family or the media, so stand by.

    Mankiewicz contributed to the James Bond world by working on the screenplays of Diamonds Are Forever, Live and Let Die and The Man with the Golden Gun. He also did an uncredited rewrite on The Spy Who Loved Me and helped the Broccoli’s and director Lewis Gilbert get Moonraker off the ground. Apart from 007 Mankiewicz is known for his screenplay involvement in the Christopher Reeve Superman films and 1985’s Ladyhawke.

  10. Grace Jones' Debut At The Hollywood Bowl

    Legendary new wave disco dominatrix Grace Jones is makes her debut at the Hollywood Bowl this summer on Sunday, July 26, 2009, 7:00 PM. Grace Jones portrayed 007 bond girl baddie May Day alongside Roger Moore in 1985’s James Bond film A View to a Kill.

    Sharing this one-of-a-kind concert with Grace Jones is the wildly imaginative and theatrical Of Montreal and Cambodian psych-pop group Dengue Fever. Henry Rollins of Black Flag will host this event. Tickets went on sale to the general public today and can be purchased one of three ways.
