2006 is shaping up to be an expensive year for literary James Bond collectors. A flood of new books on various aspects of 007, Young Bond, and now this new release on the horizon, James Bond in the 21st Century: Why We Still Need 007, edited by Glenn Yeffeth.

While little is known at the moment about the specifics of this new James Bond book, one little bit of trivia can be noted. Amazon.com reports that the book is a part of publisher Benbella Book’s ‘Smart Pop series.’ According to the official Smart Pop site, these books are ‘a series of anthologies on the best of pop culture. Anthologies that are smart, thoughtful and insightful … but never forget to have fun.’ It is probably safe to bet that this 007 book will be somewhere along those lines.

Published by Benbella Books, James Bond in the 21st Century: Why We Still Need 007 runs at 256 pages and can currently be pre-ordered at amazon.com for $17.95. It is currently not listed on amazon.co.uk.
