  1. M character poster for ‘Skyfall’

    By Matthew Harkin on 2012-09-07

Last month 4 ‘Skyfall’ character posters were released, one for Bond, Silva, Eve and Severine. However, ‘JamesBond007Mexico’ have posted clean artwork for all four posters on Facebook, and among the artwork is ‘unused’ art for an M poster. This could be released at a later date, but the artwork for Judi Dench’s’ character is a new discovery. You can see all other clean character posters here.

Special thanks to ‘Nicolas Suszczyk’ for the alert.

  4. Bond’s architect honoured in Berlin

    By Helmut Schierer on 2012-09-07

Production designer Sir Ken Adam had a busy week in Berlin. On Monday he was honoured with one of the twenty stars that form the newest stretch of the  ‘Boulevard of Stars’ in Berlin. His name now is in a line with such legendary film artists like Billy Wilder, Ernst Lubitsch, Klaus Kinski, Emil Jannings, Hildegard Knef and Marlene Dietrich.

The next day Sir Ken received the Cross of the Order of Merit (Bundesverdienstkreuz am Bande) of the Federal Republic of Germany for his outstanding record in film architecture and production design as well as for his exceptional commitment to German cinema. Amongst other activities he took sponsorship for the ‘Talent Campus’ of the Berlinale and is a honorary member of the German Film Academy. His personal artistic archive he handed over to the German Cinematheque; an invaluable treasure of cinema history and a legacy for future generations of film artists.

  5. Skyfall Run Time and Rating Revealed?

    By Matthew Harkin on 2012-09-07

Empire Cinemas has added the running time of Skyfall as 145 minutes, excluding trailers and advertisements. The site also lists ‘Skyfall’ under the 12A category. If true, then ‘Skyfall’ will surpass Casino Royale’s running time by a mere minute and make it the longest James Bond film in the series. CommanderBond.net must stress that before the BBFC have officially rated Skyfall, then this news should be taken with a pinch of salt, as rumours of a 150 minute run time have been making the rounds for a few months now.

  6. Skyfall Soundtrack coming October 22nd?

    By Matthew Harkin on 2012-09-07

‘Skyfall’ marks Thomas Newman’s first shot at scoring a Bond film, and the first Bond film in 15 years to mark the absence of composer David Arnold, who worked on 5 consecutive James Bond movies, from 1997’s ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’, to 2008’s ‘Quantum of Solace’.

Amazon have listed the ‘Skyfall’ soundtrack, with a release date of October 22nd. Nothing has been officially confirmed yet, but if the previous few Bond films are anything to go by, then October 22nd seems like an ideal release date. No track listing’s have been added, but you can rely on CommanderBond.net to inform you as soon as they become available.

It is still unknown as to whether the yet to be announced title track will be available on the soundtrack, but if the releases for ‘Casino Royale’ and ‘Quantum of Solace’ is anything to go by, I wouldn’t hold your breath.

A close friend of Sam Mendes,  Newman’s most famous works include, The Shawshank Redemption, American Beauty and The Green Mile, so expectations are at an all time high.

Special thanks to ‘Shrublands’ for the alert.
