Although there’s still almost a month to go until Quantum of Solace is released on home video around the world, DVD Talk has gotten their hands on a DVD-R screener copy courtesy of MGM and Fox Home Entertainment and have posted the review online.

Although the video and audio categories are omitted due to the disk being a screener copy, the 22nd James Bond film received an overall advice score of ‘Recommended’.

Film content and replay values were ranked highly, but unfortunately the special features for this two-disc special edition only scored two out of five stars. Reviewer Nick Hartel notes: ‘This stuff might interest some, but there’s no real substance and the replay value of the extras are nil. It seems that a double dip of this film is almost a given, considering the lack of substantial extras.’

James Bond wasn’t able to conquer the BAFTA Awards this year as Quantum of Solace came away empty-handed after being nominated in two categories.

The 22nd Bond film was up for awards in the Special Visual Effects and Sound categories, but lost to The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Slumdog Millionaire, respectively.

2006’s Casino Royale won the latter award when it was nominated two years ago.

Daniel Craig made an appearance at the event along with girlfriend Satsuki Mitchell. Craig handed out the Best Actress award, which went to Kate Winslet for her role in The Reader. Craig briefly spoke about the show to the BBC News (click here to listen).
