2002 is the 40th anniversary of the release Dr. No the first Eon Productions James Bond film. The 20th official Bond movie Die Another Day is to be released in November. This extraordinary series of internationally adored films has been the mainstay of the British film industry throughout this period. Much of the success of the films is down to the vision of the great and much missed Cubby Broccoli.

Cubby knew full well that every Bond film had to include certain indispensable ingredients in order to please the millions of fans worldwide. Those all important components were: a dark and handsome leading man; the most glamorous leading ladies; the megalomaniac villain; the gadgets; the car; the locations; the strong story-line and last but by no means least – the humour.

Every Bond film must have its share of throwaway tag lines, comic characters and zany situations. I am certain that we all have our own personal favourites.

A plaque unveiling in the British Comedy Society Hall of Fame will be followed by a drinks reception and celebrity luncheon in the famous dining room at Pinewood Film Studios the home of so many of the films.

As always we will have a special charity auction to raise money for a UNICEF project as nominated by Roger Moore. The event is scheduled to conclude at 5.00pm.

Invited guests include Shirley Eaton, Honor Blackman, Dame Judi Dench, Valerie Leon, Richard Kiel, Clifton James, Christopher Lee, Sean Bean, Samantha Bond, Robbie Coltrane, Brit Ekland, Robert Carlyle, Geoffrey Palmer, Jenny Hanley and some special surprises.

We look forward to seeing you at this memorable event.
