Sir Sean Connery was awarded the American Film Institute’s (AFI) Lifetime Achievement Award on Thursday, 8 June 2006.

Presented at a gala tribute in Los Angeles, it was the 34th Lifetime Achievement awarded and is one of the highest honours in film. The event was later broadcast on the USA Network on 21 June.

Thanks to Harrison Ford Web, those who missed the program can view it online. Split into nine sections, it features speeches by Andy Garcia, Harrison Ford, George Lucas, Tom Jones, Eddie Izzard, Steven Spielberg, Pierce Brosnan, Tippi Hedren, Catherine Zeta Jones, Julia Ormond, Ian McShane, and Greg Ferguson. The opening by Mike Myers and the Daniel Craig video appearance are also included.
