I have a question...why is Bond acting so grumpy about Vesper's betrayal when he damn well knows that she saved his life? I mean I understand him being upset about being easily deceived. But isn't it time he dropped the kvetching about 'She betrayed me'. He knows now that she was in a tight spot, but did end up saving his life!

Oooh. Love that stuff (already seen a lot of it).
But the Mathis/Bond convo is new to me, and I think that's a really great moment. In fact, I daresay it's a better Bond/Mathis moment than we ever got in CASINO ROYALE, and is wonderfully evocative of their conversations in Fleming. Love it. Visually, QUANTUM OF SOLACE seems to be the most naturalistic Bond flick ever. This makes it stand in contrast to the lush look of CASINO ROYALE, but not necessarily less compelling.  |
