I know that this arose in the context of celbrating the literary Bond, but I believe that Dom Perignon had a falling out with Cubby, leading to Dalton's remark about champagne: "The brand on the list was questionable, sir."

I wish I could provide a source for this little story, but it's been too long, and my quick references didn't have it. And you're right, Jeff007, Bollinger had been used in several Bond films before TLD. Still, I recall reading this story when the movie came out, and, if you think about it, the line serves no other purpose than subtly to zing a competing brand of champagne.

The story that I heard for dropping Dom Perignon from the films was that the monks didn't need the Bond publicity to sell their wares, they just wanted paying for it.

Has anyone ever been lucky enough to drink Dom Perigon? Always wanted to know if it really is as good as Mr Fleming has lead me to belive in the books.
