Cool. As ridiculous as it may be, I tend to feel a sense of pride when I come across promo material for Bond. I'm tempted to hang about them and observe others' reactions.

Glad to hear Sony is hitting it hard.

Eh, they should have done like TDK and come up with a creative campaign and not just tie-ins.

I was in a Sony Style store when Casino Royale was released & they had a section of the store dedicated to the movie which was cool. Unfortunately, everything was horribly overpriced.

Finally Sony organized a 'big' marketing campaign! But it will be not as big as the campaign of TDK which was awesome. Sony releases a TV spot with its products and that may be all!

That's the way Sony it always does! They should start with a campaign when they're releasing the teaser but let's see. smile.gif

As much as you all want to see Bond plastered everywhere, the truth is that you don't need a massive DARK KNIGHT-esque marketing campaign for a Bond film. Sure you can't just throw Craig onto a late night talk show and be done with it, but all you really need are a few commercials and some posters in theatres and the audiences will flock.

Bond doesn't need the viral marketing that batman needed. If they did, the best time to have opted to use such marketing strategies would have been for CR when the film and Craig were unfairly in doubt.

edited - and jack wade is right. Bond is one of if not the biggest movie institution(s) in the history of cinema. Simple awareness of a Bond film about to come out is more than enough to put bums in seats BUT the movie business has changed with, other paties inoled haing a stake and investing their money into the movie, so they want to see things happening. I recall DAD being the first film to hae the moie's budget entirely financed by the movie's multiple sponsors i.e. omega, phillips etc.
