One secret of the success of the Bond films is the stunning locations, in which the action happens. Many of them are dream places around the world. Because there are many beautiful places in every Bond film choose your top three locations from every Bond film!

One secret of the success of the Bond films is the stunning locations, in which the action happens. Many of them are dream places around the world. Because there are many beautiful places in every Bond film choose your top three locations from every Bond film! Here are mine:
Iceland? ICELAND???? That was the worst location. The Ice Palace was the backlot at Pinewood and looked it - god help us with the polysterene as snow. Mine 1) The Meteora, Greece Those monasteries were stunning. An original atmospheric location 2) Udaipur, India So colourful, the maharajahs palaces, the bazaars, the jungles - wonderfully imaginative 3)Istanbul, Turkey Spy versus spy in the alleys and mosques of Istanbul. True Cold War atmosphere in an exotic city Worse- Istanbul in TWINE - they didn't even bother trying did they? |

1) Istanbul, Turkey - as broadshoulder pointed out, it has the best Cold War atmosphere of any location.
2) Jamaica - brilliant and beautiful backdrop to Dr. No. 3) Cairo, Egypt - a wonderful city teeming with all the exotic and mysterious qualities a Bond film could ask for. ![]() |

Have to go with the following:
1. Piz Gloria/Switzerland in OHMSS 2. Japan in YOLT (particularly the islands) 3. Greece in FYEO (agreed about the monasteries, and the rest was pretty nice also) It's a shame Bond has to go to at least 4+ locations per film now - I miss the days when you actually had more screen-time to take in some of the local customs/atmosphere at these locations. Now they are like a side issue. You get one establishing shot and the rest could be on the Pinewood backlot for all you knew. |

Venice, in any of the films they've shown it.
The Forbes Museum in The Living Daylights is a home I could cope with. Jamaica, the Dr No version. ![]() ![]() "There was a violent cruelty, a pathological desire to wound, quite near the surface in the man." CBn: ...we have people everywhere Only James Bond is James Bond. |

Another stunning scene is in CR where Bond is sitting on his wheel chair after the torture where he has his closest time with Vesper until Mr. Mendel comes along! Where is it?

I think this thread goes to show just how many great locations there have been in the Bond movies.

Another stunning scene is in CR where Bond is sitting on his wheel chair after the torture where he has his closest time with Vesper until Mr. Mendel comes along! Where is it? Villa del Balbianello, Lake Como, Italy. As well as CASINO ROYALE, it's been used as a filming location in ATTACK OF THE CLONES and OCEAN'S TWELVE. |
