VERY curious. You may have it right that this is the short story collection with tie-in cover art...but a hardback as well? Like I said, curious.

Yeah, the hardback is throwing me a little. Unless they just really want to milk this thing to the bone (seeing as though they are jumping on the centenary and the film release as a chance to release the books)...

Guess we'll find out.

How awesome would it be if we found out this was a novelization of some kind?

I'd love to see that happen. But while I know Amazon changes things on seemingly a day-to-day basis at this early stage, that 304 page count matching the earlier UK Quantum of Solace collection seems to be the giveaway.

Still...

It'd be interesting to see who they would choose if this eventually turns out to be a novelization.

Why the double dip? huh.gif

I'd much rather have a novilisation than a re-release of a book that came out a few months ago.

Because it makes them more money. Rather simple, really.

It seems that they're bleeding us for every penny they can get. Fleming only wrote a dozen Bond adventures and it seems they think that Bond fans will willingly buy anyhting if it has a pretty new cover and is called a "Centenary Event". My God, they've already issued and re-issued the original novels several times just in the past three or four years!

We don't need any more old stuff ... how many copies of Fleming's books do we need in our collections anyway?

Give us more NEW adventures, but next time get an actual action/adventure/espionage author to write it!

So we complain when we don't get something...and now we complain that we're getting too much?

I've LOVED what they done this year. Cool new reprints (first hardcover reprint since te 80s), a new short story anthology (I've long wanted this), special editions galore, and THREE all-new Bond adventures (not to mention the Titan Books which all constitute first publication of those collected stories). It has been an embarrassment of riches for literary Bond fans and collectors this year.

I know it's very un-fan-like of me, but I find nothing to complain about.

Absolutely.

Add to that multiple exhibitions and events dedicated to Bond and Fleming, radio programmes, the biggest (ever?) publicity push for the literary 007 and, of course, Quantum of Solace (the first true sequel to a Bond film - one of the best at that - and shock, horror, bestowed with a Fleming title).

Bond fans have never had it better.
