QUOTE
To celebrate the Centenary of Ian Fleming’s birth Queen Anne Press is publishing an edition of his complete works. There are eighteen volumes: all the Bonds, plus Thrilling Cities, The Diamond Smugglers, Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang and Talk of the Devil. The last is a collection of rarely seen material, some of it unpublished, the title being chosen from a list drawn up by Fleming himself.

Now that is exciting! Too bad it costs an arm and a leg. I can only hope they'll print a cheapo edition, as they'll be doing with the other books. Perhaps my attempts at telepathy have worked after all! Publishing a collection of Fleming's uncollected work is a much better way to honor his centenary than by hiring some other novelist to hump his character. The honorable thing is celebrate Fleming and Bond, not just the latter.

I know there's a trailer out for the new film and everything, but wake up, everyone! I mean, what? Unpublished Fleming material? In a new book? For ten squillion quid? Would 'Crikey!' be out of order?

Hey, know what you mean. But also I am actually now getting collectors fatigue. Enough. Though lets hope for a cheap version of the unpublished Fleming

Has that unused Fleming title - "Talk of the Devil" - been revealed before?

I wonder if TALK OF THE DEVIL will be anything like what we discussed here: http://debrief.commanderbond.net/index.php...&hl=atticus

Calm yourself, SNF. It's only...unpublished Fleming. Nothing to write home about.

It will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine....

The Irish Examiner on Casino Royale: "Craig considerably better than expected."
Father Ted: "Careful now." "Down with that sort of thing."
CBn on To Whom It May Condemn, a crappy fanfic novella: "Stop getting Bond wrong!"

But "Talk of the Devil" doesn't contain unpublished Fleming Bond material, correct?

Would you consider one of the £2,000 or £6,000 sets? If I wasn't doing so much travel this year, I just might.

No idea. Not heard the title before either, but perhaps missed it in Chancellor or somewhere. Not especially enamoured of it, but clever of them to use it because it'll appeal to all the people who just bought Faulks' book and are curious about Fleming and, well, are very very loaded indeed. smile.gif Perhaps not such a massive market. I'd love to have a collection even of Fleming's complete published journalism. And I think that would contain a a lot of material that inspired or gives insight into Bond.
