The song is tolerable, but this music video is about as good as the book itself.

That was bad. Just Bad.

I couldn't endure it: gave up around 1:40, when she started the discordant wailing again. Ugh.

I don't know what everybody complains about - I think it's a decent rock song - Yes, maybe not so "Bondian" but anyway It's not bad. About the video - I seen worse, MUCH WORSE. Just tune in MTV or whatever music channels you got, sit for half an hour and you probably cry for mercy for it's a lot of [censored]. Much worse that the DMC video.

Hey, that's a slightly different version of the song. It doesn't have the dossier narration at the end. Wonder if that's true of the audiobook version as well (I haven't listened to that yet).

I really like this song. Always have. Video is okay. Her singing while lying in a pool of blood is a pretty cool Bondian image.

Jesus f-ing Christ. Can we just have a thread where each poster apologizes to everybody for liking a Bond book, movie or song?

I'll start. I enjoyed DMC... PLEASE FORGIVE ME!

AWARD FOR NERDIEST FAN FICTION: In Jacques Stewart's magnum opus Just Another Kill, Bond contemplates eating his victim: "Meat. All the man was. All the man would be. Lowering his right eye (?) to the greased rim of the sniper's glass, James Bond rationalised, so far as he needed to, that meat was all that the man, still standing on the shoreline, had ever been." And it goes ON! Thanks Jacques Stewart, you meathead!

I'd like to see someone take some of the lovely imagery (the pool of blood, for one) and mix it with actual credit sequence stuff to come up with a mock titles for DMC.

I quite liked it, but now that the book is out the whole concept of having a competition for a theme song for it seems even odder. Not the band's fault at all, because they weren't told what the book was about, but as they weren't, and the book is set in 1967, how exactly is this the theme tune for the book, in anything but name? Chris Cornell provided a powerhouse rock song for an adaptation of a 1953 novel, but he had seen bits of the film and knew what direction it was going in and tried to come up with something that would fit the film. That's surely the idea - a song that fits the film or, in this case, book. But it doesn't, and couldn't have done, except by chance.

That was the winning band for the Devil May Care song??!!! That was just terrible!! stare.gif I agree that the video is decent with some nice Bond-esque images but the song and her singing was downright awful!! Blech... I just hope they aren't asked to sing the title for Quantum of Solace!!
