I recall that Brosnan's tux in GoldenEye was actually midnight Blue, not black.

Goodness; that's a lot of very expensive bits of menswear.
Great to hear he's doing it- very stylish. And yeah, the Bond in a blue dinner suit thing has happened before with no fuss; it's not a worry. They called it 'Quantum of Silence', so as to whether it's a navy or something darker may not be clear! |

I recall that Brosnan's tux in GoldenEye was actually midnight Blue, not black. I think that's the tuxedo he wears at Carver's function in TND. That’s right. Lindy Hemming talked at the time that the idea came from the Duke of Windsor who favoured a midnight blue dinner jacket. She felt it would photograph better than the standard black. |

Yeah, midnight blue is the real traditional color for tuxedos -it actually looks darker than actual black (which I believe gets a sort of green tint in photos).

Yes of course, I'm caricaturing The point I wanted to make was that despite all he marketing efforts to make us believe so, wearing a £3000 bespoke suit won't make us look like Daniel Craig (or Olga Kurylenko, delete as appropriate or wearing a 1000-feet diver watch won't really make us cooler if we don't even know how to swim... or driving an Aston Martin or BMW Z3 won't be really helpful if the speed limit is still 70 mph and that, most of the time, we aren't chased by henchmen... etc etc Luxury product placements in Bond films aren't my preferred part, I must say... ![]() The Mercurius Affair: A James Bond novella - A tribute to Ian Fleming's creation
