Now on the CBn main page...

Composer David Arnold has begun work on the score

David Arnold's been on Jonathan Ross' show talking about new projects, and they had time to talk Bond. He said he's been working on QoS for a while, that it's different but still a continuation etc. They even talk about Scott Walker on the TWINE soundtrack, and the film auction thing that was on this week. Worth a listen, it starts about 2hrs 15 mins in if you click on 'listen again to the whole show':

You'll have to wait until after 1pm today to listen to it as it's still last week's show up there at the moment.

well, i remenber an interview from Arnold in november or december, where he said, that unlike his previous bond, he'll be working on QOS very early into the production. this was a very good news i think.

Maybe this means that we will have exclusive music from Arnold for the Teaser and the trailer, like John Williams is doing sometimes for the spielberg movies.

Yes, I was just going to ask whether everyone thinks that Arnold will score the trailers.

Wow! Thanks for this. I've been trying to get some news via FSM for months now, but no-one seemed interested in digging. Thank god for Wossie!

Interesting.

I wonder how much impact Forster has had on the score, considering the fact that he likes to work together with the composer on the music.

I think we are going to get a very dark and brooding score, darker than Casino Royale infact.

I think that's a given. The choice of the desert is a key example to this, as it reflects Bond’s emotional state.

Very cool info! thumbup.gif

I think that Quantum of Solace soundtrack is something to look forward to, since Casino Royale's was very good, IMO. smile.gif

Yes, I loved the score for Casino Royale, just a shame many people are beginning to despise it. huh.gif

I don't think so.
"The Kite Runner" was a serious movie. But it had a light-hearted score. Same with "Finding Neverland". I think Forster always brings in the "there's always hope"-theme in his movies. And I think it won't be different with Bond. So I expect a score that is on the contrary of the dark tone of the movie itself.

I don't suppose anyone has the means to extract an MP3 of the Arnold component, eh? I don't have RealPlayer installed and I'm not about to put that filth on my computer.

I hope the collaboration Arnold/Forster is a little bit more sofisticated than just some random songs put in by Forster. I hate source music in Bondfilms.
