Quick word to the wise; don't bother with all that silly internet ordering stuff; I just saw some big old posters in Waterstones saying that Devil May Care will be available for half price (I think 9.49) for the first week from them, and they'll throw in some Bond postcards for free with that.

Faulks is featured on their website, also: http://www.waterstones.com/waterstonesweb/...ageID=200000607

Here's his review of Moonraker!
http://www3.waterstones.com/wat/images/spe...f/moonraker.pdf
Amusingly he also recommends a book called 'The World is Not Enough' by Zoe Oldenbourg smile.gif

Exactly two weeks to go.

It shows 11.39 right now.

Amazon is 9.49 though, which is where my copy is pre-ordered.

My guess is 9.49 is the in-store price. Wonder if any other booksellers plan on similar promotional giveaways.

Picked it up just now in Waterstones for 9.49 (although Smith's have it for 7.60 I think) together with the postcards- they're rather nice: postcards of the new covers for the Flemings re-issues which look great.
I saw they had the Hurricane Gold paperbacks out too.

It seems like, unless you've preordered, they'll only give out the postcards to the first five customers - at least that's what they told me in my local Waterstones.

I was the first person to buy the book there, though.

Really? Can that be right? Seems a bit rough to advertise them and only give them to a couple of people!

I've orderd my copy from Amazon - hopefully it will be waiting for me when I get home Friday night.

Seems a bit odd if Waterstones makes a big deal of the post cards and then limits them to the first five customers only...

I think the postcards were a freebie if you pre-ordered with them, at least that's the way it seemed from the posters I saw.

The first five thing seems to be if you didn't pre-order and just walked into the shop.

Ouch. Seems a tad unfair.

How is it unfair? Seems perfectly reasonable to me!

There was no mention of pre-ordering on the in-store advertising.

Yes, there was - on the posters, it said you could pre-order and you got the postcards.
