Sounds like a total blast.
I hope they can match that amazing pre-titles sequence from Moonraker. I was completely blown away as a youngster by that free-fall scene in the theatre in 1979. Here's hoping for something totally Bondian in the skies come the Fall/Autumn...without the comedy, that is! |

That sounds like it could be awesome. Glad to see that the franchise is doing something that sounds sort of cutting edge.

Beats the hell out of the last Bourne and Greengrass' shakey cam, something which went out of style back in early 2000s.
Greengrass, in fact, has shown his lack of class and lack of vision by publicly dissing James Bond and over-using shakey cam...whereas Eon have shown IMMENSE vision by employing THE BEST talent in virtually every field, including in the areas of director and technology. And, they continue to show their class - by effectively ignoring loud-mouthed wannabes like Greengrass. When audiences look back 20 yrs from now, they'll look to Casino Royale and (i'm betting) Quantum Of Solace as the great adventure thrillers and not the dated, unwatchable, shakey-cam-riddled Bourne Ultimatum, which couldn't hold a candle to the great Bourne Identity. |

Beats the hell out of the last Bourne and Greengrass' shakey cam, something which went out of style back in early 2000s. There is an element of 'proof of the pudding' to be awaited here following the diting process. There were some wonderfully graceful shots of the ice lake chase in DAD which were all but completely unused in preference of editing in all of the gadget shots. All the best shots of this chase are in the James Bond on Ice documentary. ![]() ________________________________________________

I'm really looking forward to seeing how this will look on screen. It has always seemed like there were serious limitations when shooting scenes while flying, I wonder if this will be as revolutionary as the steady cam (at least for aerial shots)???

What is it with you always having to create an "enemy" to be slagged off, and at the same time bigging up Eon? First it was Haggis, now its Greengrass. Do you deliberately exaggerate for effect? As I understand it, Greengrass just doesn't like the character of James Bond, and what he perceives it represents: a certain imperialism and misogyny. Thats just his opinion, not one I share, but its his view. It doesn't demonstrate a lack of class in any way. And the phrase "shakey-cam" is a really annoying form of reductionism which people use to undermine something that just isn't to their tastes: Greengrass doesn't just shake the camera about aimlessly, there is some serious, complex action filmmaking technique going on there that even Steven Spielberg appreciates. Its much more likely that audiences will look back in 20 years and enjoy all the Bourne films and the Craig Bonds as great examples of action filmmaking. Theres room for both. As I understand it, Greengrass just doesn't like the character of James Bond... ...which means he'll never get near a James Bond film*. Good! *Unless he pays up for a ticket. |

And, they continue to show their class - by effecting ignoring loud-mouthed wannabes like Greengrass. Well said. Sorry about the typo...meant to say: "by effectively ignoring loud-mouthed wannabes like Greengrass." ...and I agree all the same. |
