> Weird 'Quantum of Solace' Dream...

Last night, I had an epic dream about Quantum of Solace and Devil May Care. It comprised of two parts: (1) A May screening of Quantum of Solace on a field trip in a fictional film place (a cross between a museum and a hall of fame dedicated to cinema history) in downtown Cleveland, Ohio, and (2) Playing an extra in Quantum of Solace in a fancy hotel in Cleveland. Usually I don't post about my Bond related dreams but I've never had one quite like this before. It was extensive and I still remember quite a lot about it. So here's how I remember it...
PART I

I'm on a field trip with a bunch of other college students at an institution dedicated to film history in downtown Cleveland. We're there for a Quantum of Solace screening in May 2008 (a few days before Ian Fleming's 100th birthday). Yes, we're the first group to see the finished film. While waiting in line for the screening, I see a girl holding a large copy of Devil May Care (neither the US or UK version, one my mind made up). Excited, I chase her down and ask how she get it early. She says she pre-ordered it from a website (I forgot the name) and it came early. I immediately whip out my cell phone and call Mr. Asterix, so he can get the news on the CBn main page. No answer. So I call K1Bond007. No answer. I finally call zencat and he answers. I tell him the story and he sounds uninterested, saying that he's too busy to report the news online (this is unrealistic as we all know zencat would be excited about this). After the call is over, I rush into the screening room so that I don't miss the beginning. An employee makes a speech, introducing the movie and hands out goodie bags. Mine contains a large sum of cash (including $10,000 bills which don't exist tongue.gif ). Excited about my cash prize, I am unable to concentrate on the film and my viewing experience is tainted. That's all I remember.

PART II

The Quantum of Solace crew is at a fancy hotel in Cleveland, shooting a few scenes for the film. I am cast as a 00 Agent and walk/talk with Bond (Daniel Craig) for a little bit in MI6 Headquarters. We then meet a black man and follow him into M's office. The man then changes his appearance and becomes Bill Tanner (Rory Kinnear). Bond and I are amazed by this disguise technology and I comment on how Q Branch did a nice job with it. M (Judi Dench) then demonstrates her glass wall device in action and that's the end of this scene. In the next scene, Bond and I are in a room with a lot of extras. I think it's supposed to be an epic fight scene but something goes wrong and a brawl erupts. I (think) I kill and/or maim some extras (this part is foggy so I don't remember exactly what occurred) and I'm banned from the rest of the shoot. I freak out for ruining my chance to be in a Bond film so I sneak back into the hotel. I go up to the extras check-in counter and tell the lady (who looks like the Ocean Club receptionist) my name. She glances at her list of names and tells me that I missed my costume fitting (due to my removal from the shoot). While at the counter, Guy Hamilton comes in and I say hi (random, I know). I'm then given a nice suit so I put it on and wander around the hotel looking for where I need to report to. I don't think I ever find where I'm supposed to go.

Here's the next thing I remember:
I'm in a red polo shirt (with the Q logo embroidered into it) and I go wait in line for a passenger airplane scene with a bunch of other guys in the same red polos. Olga Kurylenko is also there, sitting on a couch and I say, "This Q on my shirt must mean I'm a villain." She ignores me (probably due to the confidentiality agreement). I figure we're a bunch of henchmen sent to kill Bond on a plane.

A woman then tells me and the other extras what to do. Since I came in late, she is rude to me and I don't think I make it into the scene (I forget why). As I'm leaving the hotel, I look over the balcony and see Bond and Camille walking/talking as Eva Green as Vesper runs beside them. In the hotel lobby, I am given an envelope with the money from Part I and I exit the hotel.

That's all I remember. Pretty weird, eh? tongue.gif

How do you even remember that much? Mine disappear in a few seconds as I try to snatch them back into my memory shortly after wake-up.

I don't know how/why I remembered it but I thought it was too good to forget so I wrote it down. smile.gif

I recently had a dream featuring a campus production of the Bond films starring Barbara Bach and Tony Curtis. The set had a huge poster on it with all of the Bond film taglines, one of which read, "There is Only ONE James Bond!" Towards the end, they all sat at the conference table, and at the head seat was a TV; when switched on, it started showing Roger Moore on the Liparus from TSWLM, at which point Barbara Bach started laughing. Right behind her, however, towered a scowling Richard Kiel, dressed as Jaws...

...and that's the end of it; hopefully, you can make more sense of it than I did. huh.gif

I had another one but it was very short this time: I was an extra on the set and my task was to shake James Bond's hand at an event. Daniel Craig did this weird handshake that I couldn't do. After a few takes, Craig got pissed at me and I was fired. They got a little girl to take my place and she mastered the handshake without a problem. She later rubbed it in my face that she got to be in the scene instead of me.

The other night, I had a dream about walking along a dirt trail in the woods that was littered with broken skulls; it was very Chopping-esque, to say the least... huh.gif

Weirder still is the fact that you were more excited about the book than the girl holding it.
