Is anyone here planning to attend this?

It's always interesting to me to hear how "James Bond" is treated in academic circles. Is the name a loss leader to attract numbers (no pun intended), a serious aspect of study, or something not so good?

Also: Qwerty's Threads on the Centenary bring a bigger question to mind. How are these events seen vis-a-vis the anticipated Quantum of Solace film? In other words, do they feel "coordinated," whether or not they are, in fact? Honored historical basis for the great movies that continue to come from this creation so many decades later? Or, distracting and no longer relevant to today?

Personally, I am finding all this incredibly enriching to my own James Bond studies!
