So I guess this means that Craig is doing one more Bond film after QUANTUM, with an option for BOND 25.
Great headline, though! |

Exactly some have been using this twice the action comment to get very critical, it looks like it's been taken out of context as usual. I was never worried with the likes of Craig & Forster involved but I think this must put some peoples concerns to rest. Anyway regarding action sequences, Raiders of the Lost Ark had at least 5 set big pieces but it was balanceed out with intelligent witty script and some great dialogue sequences. I'm not saying QOS will hit these heights but it can be accomplished as Raiders proves. I can't see it skimping on memorable dialogue sequences and remember over half an hour was taken up by card game in CR. I think it was pretty much to be expected that QOS would have more action. |

They are both clearly taking the micky (G. Wilson??!!) here when they talk about 12 or 100 films, but the overwhelming feeling gained from Craig is one of positivity towards doing SEVERAL more movies. As I have stated elsewhere, I hope Craig does at least 4. I cannot see him doing more than 5, but you never know. One thing that we can be sure of is that Babs can be tough with Bond actors when she wants to be, and she will not hesitate in getting rid of Craig if he gets too long in the tooth (if he hasn't walked away of his own accord by this point).
It appears that Babs and Mickey are aware that they have themselves a fantastic actor in the part of Bond and are keeping him happy by paying him what he is worth. They have learnt from the hard lesson that Cubby and Harry had to learn in the mid-60s when they didn't pay the most popular actor in the world - Connery - the highest wage going. (Off topic for a moment, but I think that SC would have possibly stayed with the series and been far happier if he had been properly paid for his work - he apparently showed an interest in becoming a junior partner with Cubby and Harry at one point but was rebuffed by them. Had they gone into business with him then he may have remained as Bond until the mid-1970s). This post has been edited by I never miss: 8 April 2008 - 21:22 ![]() "Wait 'til you get to my teeth"

And there were those who ridiculed the notion last year that Craig would do more than two or three, tops. For the record, I saw three at least and hoped for four or five.

"They keep saying it’s twice the action. I just think that’s producer speak. Certainly, we’ve upped the rate. I’ve been involved with it as much as I physically can. But we also have the best stuntmen in the world here who are doing the real thing." Sometime in the last week or two I said exactly that, that it sounded like "producer speak", not to be taken literally. So WELL DONE ME. Actually now that I think about it's hardly the most piercing insight on my part but nevermind... |
