I can't get the thing to work.

I do find it quite funny that as a UK resident I can't watch the Dr Who videos there, despite them coming from the BBC! biggrin.gif

We knew Marc Forster wasn't planning on returning way back when around the first press conference when he made comments to that effect.

"You have to apply the Bond equation, which is that we have to have as much action as we possibly can that fits in with the story, which makes sense."

No, they don't have to have as much action as they possible can. The amount of action in the pre Brosnan era is perfectly fine. Why they had to up the amount of action after LTK is beyond me.

Although I am yet to see the film (I'm confident it will look stunning as I've seen most of Forster's films), I'm not sure if we'll get another Bond film that is up to the same standards visually as QOS.

If I were Forster, I would possibly do one more Bond film and that would be it. Just doing one film is probably a wise choice on Forster's part seeing he isn't an action director. Having this one film in his CV is more than adequate. It just gives the list a bit of diversity.

Wilson taking a year off? Oh well, I thought the two year gap between the films wouldn't last.

We only know what they tell us. And, in filmdom, prudence reigns supreme...if one hopes to work again. For all we know at this point, MF's been given a gracious exit but isn't really wanted back by Michael, Babs, Daniel...or, possibly, Paul Haggis?

another 3 year or longer gap eh?.... damn.

the other thing is... I doubt Craig will be one of those guys who father time will be nice to... so I was hoping they'd squeeze as many in as possible.

Producer Michael G. Wilson also added that he expects the Bond production to pause for at least a year following Quantum. I need a break for a little while, he stated.

I don't know if this necessarily means another three year break. It seems to hinge on exactly how long "at least" eventually becomes.

And, at his age, what are Mr. Wilson's own plans for retirement, how does that factor into production breaks versus how many more does he have left?

A three year gap seems a bit doubtful in my mind. A fall 2012 (October 5 of that year to be exact) is almost a must. So, it'll have to be a fall 2010 date for 23, then 24 October 2012. Or, should I even suggest it, could there be another 4 year gap?!?

But, there could be another big gap coming cause we all know how MGM has said they're taking the Bond series back with 23, so could Sony throw a fit and stale the next one with a big long endless legal case, thereby forcing the date back.

Or, could we still be looking at Fall 2010 as the date, and that Mr. Wilson will take his own break and leave it up to Ms. Broccoli to handle preproduction, then come back as they start film. From what I've seen, Mr. Wilson looks to be more of the showman, being the spokesperson of the two while Ms. Broccoli probably is more of the behind the scenes person.

As for the subject of director, with Forster out- let the speculation begin. Please be Haggis. Please be Haggis.

Daniel Craig is Bond! And Bond is better than ever for it!

Where did people get the idea that its going to be a 3 years gap ? P&W might have waited nearly 6 months without doing anything. So if they start working on Bond 23 these days we may get a film in 2010.

Maybe its just me - but Wilson seems very clear here - that the team expects to take at least a year's break. As we know - they went immediately into carving out plans for Bond 22 (QOS) even as they were in post-production on Casino Royale. You can correct me if I'm wrong - but I think there was even hints about Bond 22 being connected to Casino Royale before the film debuted in November 2006. This time - Wilson has stated in interviews that that will probably not be the case with Bond 23 - it will probably be a stand-alone film. I think Wilson has made it pretty clear to fans here - to expect the next film in 2011. But - this is just my interpretation.

Yep - that's true.
