Nice find, Ace. Here's a story in Variety on Joshua Zetumer.

Yes the Rottentomatoes Bond link is very good (I go there all the time before renting a DVD movie). They link also to an excellent video on MySpace at the observatory and a good set of stills on ign.com at bigger sizes, including some that the other places haven't released.
I think all 3 of those sites are owned by NewsCorp - whatever - they've done a good job and put the TV coverage to shame. |

I don't understand....and maybe Zencat can shed some light on this...but how can you get hired on as Director with a script in place and then proceed to dump the script and "start from scratch"? Let me rephrase it: if Forster didn't like the script to begin with, why bother accepting the job? I don't know what Zetumer's contributions were/are, but I do hope that there isn't any emotional silliness with Bond getting all verkhlempt like Peter Parker got at the end of Spider-Man III. ![]() -----------------------------------------------------

I'll be very interested to find out at some point what contributions Zetumer made to the project. I think that it's exciting that Forster has brought on a fairly unknown screenwriter to polish the script, and I hope that Zetumer does a fantastic job with the opportunity that he's been given. What makes this exciting to me is that, I would imagine, this is a hire based purely off of talent. For an unknown writer with very few scripts to his name to be hired to polish the script for one of the most successful film franchises in cinema history means that he is perceived to be extremely talented by the likes of Forster and EON.

Let me rephrase it: if Forster didn't like the script to begin with, why bother accepting the job? Oh, it can happen. It's just the crazy business. I still suspect that Purvis and Wade only wrote a treatment. It's easier to believe that they "dumped" a 10 or 20 page treatment than a whole screenplay. But...who knows. I'm looking forward to seeing what the final writing credits on QOS will be. ![]() ![]() "Fandom is where people come together and complain about what they like." So Zen, I don't know how these things work. But, at this point is it even worth the trouble for P&W, to do 10 page treatments for Directors and Prouducers?

So Zen, I don't know how these things work. But, at this point is it even worth the trouble for P&W, to do 10 page treatments for Directors and Prouducers? Hey, you still get paid for those. And it's pretty easy to knock out a treatment. It's certainly less time consuming. A treatment or outline is usually just a step in an overall writing deal. It's not typical to be hired to just write a treatment. But it does happen. And, like I said, I don't know if they wrote just a treatment for QOS or a full script. I'm just speculating. ![]() ![]() "Fandom is where people come together and complain about what they like." Visit The Young Bond Dossier, now the OFFICIAL site for Young Bond news |

Again, it sounds as if P&W had very little role in shaping this film, and that it was largely Forster's baby.
I wonder if P&W will be involved with BOND 23. ![]() |
