Way to go, Stax!

This is major:

Wilson also said that, despite Eva Green's claims while doing press for Casino Royale, the villain of the film will not be Vesper's kidnapped boyfriend.

Too bad. It was a good idea.

Yes, that surprised me, too. I thought the detail of Vesper's boyfriend was a guaranteed thing.

This is great news. I had long suspected that we weren't going to see Vesper's boyfriend in QUANTUM OF SOLACE, and I'm glad to find out that the character won't be making an appearance. Turning that particular character into a villain would have been a terrible idea, IMO.

Did anybody else notice that in this photo...

Craig is once again carrying a Colt 1911-style .45 handgun?

Another case of "borrowing" from an enemy? It's a minor thing, but it adds a bit of realism to Bond.

Are the videos full of spoilers like the IGN/Rotten Tomatoes articles are supposed to be? Would I learn to much if I watched the videos without the sound?

Great stuff. The information is practically pouring out right now!

I was really pleased with Craig's comments on how to use the realism and introspection to highthen the experience of watching the movie. Make sense.

Some men aren't looking for anything logical. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

All nice looking except the photo of M's office. They've ruined it. It use to look really nice, now it looks so clinical and artificial. Maybe this is Forster's style. If they ever change M they should go back to the traditional, elegant style of M's office in the pre Brosnan era. There should be some dialogue that indicates that the new male M has a preference for this type of decor. I hope too, atleast for a couple of consecutive films, that they go back to the traditional Bond/M meetings in M's office. I'm sick of seeing M meet Bond in other areas. It's good but they shouldn't use it for every film.

I actually kind of like the look of M's office, although I can see why some might not like it because of the extremely radical change in look that it has undertaken since CASINO ROYALE. I agree that it doesn't make much sense for that to be the case, for M to change her office completely like that within a short time frame that would occur between CASINO ROYALE and QUANTUM OF SOLACE, but I still think that it looks good.

I think what QUANTUM OF SOLACE is shaping up to be is, at the very least, the most visually impressive Bond film to date.

I agree, loved their comments on how the set in Chile is reminiscent of Dr No's lair in the first film.

Also, for those worried, it seemed pretty spoiler-free.

Yes, that's a good point. It would be a serious continuity error if we saw it near the start of the film. They surely must be showing it some time along in the film after a good few weeks have passed since the ending of CR. It's not because of the radical change. Steel walls just aren't my style. For me, the older style looked much nicer. It's not my office though! LOL.

Yes, there was never any doubt in my mind that QOS will look visually stunning. I've seen most of Forster's films and was very excited when I first heard the news that he would be directing. It's just to bad that the dialogue will be minimal because of the most unnecessary abundance of action which will fairly substancially lessen my enjoyment of the film. This will never change though. I'm atleast pretty sure of this now.

"That said, Forster joked that since Quantum of Solace is the first film he's made where he won't have final cut, he could always place blame if the film fails on not having control over the editing process."

This is what really sucks. This is where all the wonderful, atmospheric and dialogue scenes get cut out in favour of action. The post LTK films have all been unjustifiably edited to tightly which also reduces my enjoyment. CR was the same in parts. What happens is that the suspense and atmosphere in certain scenes can be dramatically reduced because of pacing that is just too quick. People's attention spans must be getting shorter and shorter by the day! rolleyes.gif

It is a shame that Forster won't be getting final say on the cuts to the film, but I guess that it is expected when working on a big franchise film like this. I do think that EON should, however, give him the final cut because he is, IMO, far and away the most talented director to ever step foot on a Bond film set, and he's proven time and time again that he's one of the best directors in the business today. Hopefully he will be able to keep a lot of the dialogue oriented scenes in the film rather than having them cut out in favor of more action.
