Oh, yes! This sounds like a must buy.

BTW, there's also a listing for this on the US Amazon with a nice description.

Interesting. It's a case of so much to buy, too little money, this centenary year.

This is fantastic news. I can't wait. All I need now is them to re publish the Dave Worrall Corgio die-cast car book. That will be heaven

Definitely. The Bond-related books and novel reprints have just been pumping out since 2006 it seems.

Indeed, but it looks like this book will find it's way toward the top of my list...

On a related note--

Can anyone point me in the right direction for getting published copies of the original James Bond novels that Ian Fleming authorized for serial comic strips? I'd like to see how the first few books turned out, again, during Fleming's lifetime, when he presumable had some input on the look. I know they've been published in book form from the original newspapers, but I'm not clear on how to get my hands on the most accurate collections.

Thanks.

Dell, I have found the prices for these to be generally a little better at Buy.com rather than Amazon.

Might have a look here to check it out.

Just when I think they've run out of good subjects for a Bond book, here comes one. I think this is a must buy. I enjoyed the two features 007 Magazine did on the comic series several years back.

I especially hope they can delve more into the lack of a U.S. version of a Bond comic prior to the Dark Horse series when it seems like practically every other country in the world has had one at one time or another.

I'm going to guess that licensing had a lot to do with the lack of American Bond comics. DC did get there first with an adaptation of DOCTOR NO, but that was actually a reprint of a British adaptation. Much later on, Marvel announced that they were getting the rights to do Bond, and given that at the time -- the early 80s -- several other licensed properties, like ROM, the Micronauts, and Godzilla, interacted with the rest of the Marvel universe, I could easily see James Bond battling the Yellow Claw and teaming up with Nick Fury, Agent of SHIELD to take down a Hydra operation. Alas, they only did a rushed-looking adaptation of FOR YOUR EYES ONLY themselves and then reprinted a British adaptation of OCTOPUSSY. Another pre-Dark Horse comic was the mini-series PERMISSION TO DIE, which Mike Grell did with Eclipse, along with the one-shot adaptation of LICENSE TO KILL.
