EXCELLENT news and it is about time!
I know they were quick to cash in on the first release, but they could have done SOMETHING better at that time! Oh well, time to re-spend! This post has been edited by FLEMINGFAN: 22 March 2008 - 21:49 |

I can't wait to see the deleted material, of which there was a solid amount. ![]() |

Anyway, good that this appears to be coming out soon...I was expecting a new DVD to be released about a week before QoS |

Well, we'll see just how much bonus material they actually put into this one. It's going to have to be a lot to justify purchasing the film again.
I'm really hoping to see a lot of new scenes with Bond and Vesper, and the expanded PTS as well. Also, the TV spots need to be included, as well as trailers and more behind the scenes material. And, last but not least, Daniel Craig's screen test would be great to see, although I'm sure that it's just like the rest of the screen tests in that we'll never get to see it. |

Well, we'll see just how much bonus material they actually put into this one. Well.... considering its three discs, I expect loads! lol I don't think they exactly pushed the limits of a DVD release with the very small number of extras they put on the previous release of CR, so it's conceivable that it could be three discs not nearly filled to capacity to make it look like there's more than there really is. QUOTE(Harmsway) Well, there were only a handful in the December draft, and we're not even sure if they were all filmed. I wouldn't get your hopes up. That's a shame. I was hoping that there was a lot of scenes that didn't make it to the actual film between the two characters. That's the one thing that CASINO ROYALE really got right, and I would love to see more of it. I thought that the Daniel Craig/Eva Green pairing was the best Bond/Bond girl pairing in the entire franchise, but there just wasn't enough of it, IMO. Also, one other thing that this new release needs is new cover art. I've never been a fan of the theatrical release poster (it's just OK, but compared to the teaser poster, it's very much lacking). I would like to see an extremely in depth documentary on not only the making of the film but the two year search for Daniel, the controversy that went with it and the rousing sucess the film was met with. The recent "making-of" documentary on the new Blade Runner DVD was three and a half hours long! While I don't expect some thing that extensive, an hour and half to two would be wonderful.
I've been very disappointed that there never were any "making-of" documentaries for Brosnan's Bond films. ![]() ![]() Check out my Bond posters at my website RNK Fan Art and check out my posts at Universal Exports where I go by the name Agent-007. |

I was hoping that there was a lot of scenes that didn't make it to the actual film between the two characters. We have the following possibilities for deleted material: -The extended PTS, with a more confusing sequence of cuts back and forth. It showed Bond pursuing the contact into the bathroom. -A slightly extended chat between Obanno and Mr. White, explaining more about Obanno's religious connection. -Bond telling Mollaka his name before he shoots him. This was probably never filmed, but y'never know. -A recurring motif of torn cards playing into the "ellipsis" deal. We know this was at least partially filmed, due to the fact that footage of it is visible in the CASINO ROYALE teaser trailer. -Bond being picked up from jail by Villiers. -Extended conversation between M and Bond in Nassau about LeChiffre's connection to Saddam Hussein. We know this was filmed. -Bond meeting card player Mr. Bliss on the train and replacing him. Probably not filmed. -Bond watching Vesper approach on the train station. Filmed. -More Bond and Vesper banter on the way to the hotel taxi, not unlike the conversation they had on board the train and then in the car. If it was filmed, it was probably cut for overdoing it. -Vesper sneaking a glimpse at Bond on the drive to meet Mathis. -Extended conversation between Mathis and Bond during their lunch together, having to do with Bond's view of women and how the last thing he needs is a girl hanging on his gun arm. -Extended dialogue between Bond and Vesper on the balcony, after his loss, where she talks about her father committing suicide after losing money in gambling. In the script, the moment felt overdone and forced, and I can imagine that's why the cut it. -Bond and Vesper skinny-dipping in the mediterranean. Was filmed, and you can see bits of it in various trailers/commercials. I'm very eager to see this. -Extended "the bitch is dead" scene, where Bond hurls his laptop into the water and it shorts out. This was filmed. ![]() |

2 discs for extras... Why do I expect that there won't be enough to even fill one disc but they'll put it on two so that it seems like much more than it really is?...

Was filmed, and you can see bits of it in various trailers/commercials. -Extended "the bitch is dead" scene, where Bond hurls his laptop into the water and it shorts out. This was filmed. Thanks for the information. I hadn't heard of some of these scenes. There does appear to be a good amount of Bond/Vesper material here, more than I was actually expecting there to be. It's a shame that more scenes for the two weren't written into the script, but I'll be very happy to see these whenever the new edition is released. Also looking forward to that whole torn playing card business, just to see how all of that fit into the film. Hopefully it's included. The scene with Villiers getting Bond out of jail sounds like it could be a rather humorous scene as well. This post has been edited by tdalton: 22 March 2008 - 22:29 |
