Oh, now you want to direct! [sound of backpedaling]
Actually, that would be an interesting turn for Bond 23. Though first I'd like to see what he did with QoS -- I'm sorry, -- "Bond 22". |

I doubt our old friend Hildebrandt Rarity will like the sound of this...

After Casino Royale I'd have had no problems with him coming in to direct, but your right, .0.0.7, we should probably wait to see how QoS turns out. It's cool that he's open to the idea though, I hear he's making quite a name for himself

I'd like Haggis to direct one day. He did an exceptional job with Casino Royale.

I'd like Haggis to direct one day. He did an exceptional job with Casino Royale. he just did some polishing, and he put that boring colapsing building in venice Hey now, I liked that scene. He also added that cool as hell fight in the stairwell, and he also made Bond watch Vesper die, which I think was far more effective than him just finding dead in a hotel room. |

Indeed. The man has a vision for the character. I'm glad he polished the script up, and in turn made it a lot better than it was going to be.

I thought we didn’t know exactly how much polishing Haggis did on CR? Unless, as Felix might say, “somebody knows something that I don’t”. (Hmmm... I wonder if Haggis wrote that line too?) It does sound like both writing AND directing a Bond film would be a huge, draining undertaking. I’m not sure if it’s wise to throw all of Bond’s eggs into a single basket, so I’m glad Haggis didn’t accept the offer. For now at least I’m quite happy with the current arrangement: Haggis behind the pen and (hopefully) a series of fresh directors behind the camera with excellent production staff to round it all out. ![]() ![]() |

I'm sure he did an interview where he mentioned that aside from the dialogue polish those were his major contributions. I could be wrong though. |
