I've always liked the song, but after watching Casino Royale earlier, I have decided that it is now my favorite.
The last time I watched Casino Royale, back in September or so, I only had a cheap DVD player with a bad surround sound system. This time, aside from having a good, up-converting DVD player, I've also got a good surround sound system. Hearing the song over the surround sound really made me see how great it is. It feels really modern, but at the same time still has the Bond feel to it. I think Cornell does a really good job with the vocals, and the guitar work is pretty cool. It also provided a very nice theme for the score. I can't wait to see what the title song is like for Quantum Of Solace. I really hope they stick to this style, and do not get Amy Winehouse. ![]() |

The song will reflect the film, I've no doubt of that. Of course, that being said, I also enjoyed YKMN immensely:).

YKMN is one of my top Bond songs. To me it is the anthem for Craig's Bond.

It works pretty well, but on my surround sound (region 2) the mix is terrible. Sounds like it was recorded in a trashcan.
Anyone have the region 2 Blu-Ray version?. Is the sound any better?. ![]() |

Looks like all three Canadians from Ontario in this thread like YKMN...what's it about Ontarians and YKMN?

I hated it at first but I love it now. All Bond songs should be first heard during the titles. It really helps. I remember being sick to death of AVTAK when I saw it in the theater(belated viewing).

Looks like all three Canadians from Ontario in this thread like YKMN...what's it about Ontarians and YKMN? I guess it's just our type of Bond song. Tarl_Cabot, I agree. I prefer going into a Bond movie having not heard the song. I made an exception for Casino Royale because I often checked into the spoilers section and decided that I had already spoiled so much that it wouldn't hurt to listen to the theme. This time as I am staying spoiler free, my first time hearing the theme for Quantum Of Solace will indeed be at the theatre. ![]() |

I just wish the used the same tone or meledy as they did in the movie theater on to the dvd version. i mean its sounds more rocker than the one it theaters which sounded more intromenstral in which i like the best of the version.

The version on the DVD isn't a different mix than what was in the theater. I think the translation to the home on the small screen & small speakers is what makes it sound different. It just doesn't seem to have that same oomph it had in the theater. I have a nice surround sound system & it sounds excellent but it just isn't the same as being in that giant auditorium. This song has definitely grown on me since I first heard it. ![]() ![]() |

Anyone else wonder how it would sound as a softer, acoustic guitar version? Probably more poignant, in my opinion...
