Lazy cover design.

Numbers 4 and 5 were Mr and Mrs Du Pont, rich-looking and might or might not have some of the real Du Pont money behind them. Bond guessed they would be stayers. They both had a business-like look about them and were talking together easily and cheerfully as if they felt very much at home at the big game. Bond was quite happy to have them next to him...

Definitely not bad considering that it is one of the Richie Fahey/Roseanne Serra covers though. It generally works for this collection seeing that Casino Royale is included.

I managed to get one off eBay and am just waiting for it to be delivered now.

Since I'm currently collecting various 'Omnibus' type Bond books, I will track one of these down ASAP...

But today is the thirteenth...

Lazy cover design.

I'm forced to agree. They didn't even get the order right on the cover.

Yeah, noticed that too. Seemed like an odd way to list the titles if they're going to go with the first three in this collection.

No doubt that it's a lazy design.

But I was actually surprised to see them use the Fahey artwork from the Penguin edition of CR. (Makes me wonder if Doubleday and Penguin are somehow connected, maybe I'll look into that when I have some extra time.)

Anyway, it seems that usually these 'Omnibus' type editions get very bland covers with many featuring only text and perhaps some rather generic 'art'. So as these books go, this one is actually one of the better looking.

Just got mine today.

It's definitely a book club edition that was "especially created in 2007 for Bertelsman Direct North America by arrangement with the Penguin Group."

ISBN is 978-0-7394-9026-6 if anyone else is searching.
