I'm intrigued what this "exotic Cold War vehicle" could be.

Obvious assumption is that "exotic cold war vehicle" refers to a secret project thingy.

So, James Bond goes to Area 51 and flies a saucer?

I agree. It may beat out Colonel Sun as best continuation novel...

Definitely looking forward to it. What excites me most is that it's set within the sphere of Fleming's novels and Faulks - a talented author himself - is intent on grabbing the complete essence of what Fleming wrote. There's no attempt on his behalf to put his own spin on Bond, because, as he seems to realise, Bond is not his character - it's Fleming's!

It sounds dynamite. Good title, cars, trains, two girls, some exotic Cold War vehicle, no boring bits, adventure and the high life. Sounds promising.

What an arrogant bastard - great!

This could turn out to be the best continuation novel since John Pearson's.

I do hope you guys - and me - aren't disappointed.

I HOPE Faulks hasn't just chucked in what he hopes are "traditional" Fleming ingredients in the belief that's enough. We do need some 'Sebastian' as well, not just what amounts to a pastiche of Ian Fleming's - supposed - greatest hits.

I am reservuing judgement. I've lived through the disappointment of the release of far too many continuation novels. wink.gif

That is a good view to have. It is sounding rather good currently, but we all will judge it come release time.
